Hi I'm Megan

I grew up in Utah. I served a mission in South Africa. I teach elementary at a school for the Deaf. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my husband playing basketball- perfect place for two people over 6 foot to meet and fall in love! We've been married for almost 5 years now. We moved to Arizona a few years back after I accepted a job teaching at a school for the deaf. I enjoy ASL, teaching, volleyball, basketball, music, hiking, eating chocolate and bacon (but not together) and spending time with my family. I am scared of heights but always up for new adventures- recently I enjoyed several different repelling adventures and paragliding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful for the blessings that the Church of Jesus Christ has brought into my life. I know it is the true church of Christ. I have lived the commandments and understood their importance. I have prayed for an assurance of the truthfulness of the things that I have learned and the way that I live. I have felt the answers from my Heavenly Father come into my life. I am blessed to have the sweet guidance of the spirit in my life. I love the Book of Mormon and the message it contains. I know that it was written by prophets of old to help us draw nearer to God. I am grateful for the emphasis that the church puts on the family. I was married to my husband for time and all eternity and strive to live my life so I can be worthy of my blessings. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I strive to live my life in a way that he taught and lived.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in my church community. Currently I have the opportunity to work with the youth group particularly with the girls ages 12 to 18. I enjoy teaching them and have also learned much from them and see the courage they have to live their faith. At a young age, my parents helped me gain a love for reaching out to others and serving both in organized service projects and also random acts of kindness. I try to reach out to lift others around me. I enjoy joining my husband helping someone haul boxes to the truck as they move or going to someone's house and sharing uplifting messages with them. I was blessed with the opportunity to serve as a missionary in Cape Town South Africa. I meet amazing people and saw first hand how the gospel of Jesus Christ can truly bring light and hope into a life darkened my experiences and trial. I am grateful for the commandments of God that I strive to follow because I see the result and feel the peace that comes from it.
