Hi I'm Susan

I am a "Buckeye" by birth, having lived in many states and Asia. I am a retired registered nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of three children; one son; two daughters. I have three grandson; one step-grandson and one step-granddaughter. I love working on family history; also helping others do their genealogy, too.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to become a member, with my husband, Christmas Eve 1977, in El Centro, California. We loved the message of the Gospel Plan and learning about becoming an eternal family. Our conversion occurred over a three month period and are forever grateful to those who shared their homes for settings to hear the gospel as presented by two missionaries. Being loved into the church and receiving callings to serve right away helped us remain actively engaged in this good work.

How I live my faith

Today I am listening to General Conference as I do every 6 months to learn from General Authorities what Heavenly Father wants us to know. We pray several times a day as family and individuals for guidance, comfort, and for others who need prayers or help. Every night, Monday through Friday, we read scriptures together right after dinner. This seems best for our family of 4 - my mother age 88, husband, adult daughter and myself. We all read and discuss the next week's Sunday School lesson. Individual scripture study goes on at different times through the day and week. I accept all the callings given for service in church and out. When someone wants to know about the Gospel and the Church I am happy to share.
