Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Colorado and have lived in Texas for the past 29 years.

About Me

My high school sweetheart and I have been married for 42 years. We were blessed with 2 children who have given us 7 beautiful grandchildren. I have been retired for the past 3 years and I'm using my retirement years to do volunteer work, something I never had the time to do while I was working. I enjoy taking walks with our dog Sadie, reading (my favorite genre is 'thriller/mystery'), and researching my family's history. It's been amazing to find out things about my ancestry that I didn't know before!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a third generation Mormon. My grandmother was the first one baptized into the Church, followed my by mother and my aunt. I gained a testimony of the restored gospel when I was in college after I read

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. Our faith is centered in our belief that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that through his atonement, our sins can be forgiven. This has given me strength throughout my life. Every morning in my prayers I ask Heavenly Father to make me an instrument in His hands to touch someone's life. I've found that sometimes it's just as simple as saying hello to someone or giving a sincere Thank You to someone who had shown kindness to me. I'm reminded of the Savior's words, 'Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.'
