Hi I'm Katie

I'm from Utah. I have a crazy, huge family.I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a lovely girl of twenty-one. I grew up in a huge family. I have eight brothers and three sisters! My family is really close and we love being together. I have three nieces and one nephew and three on the way! I love being an aunt. It is the best thing in the world! But with such a big family, it can be really hard to get along sometimes. I know that it's frustrating sometimes in family life, but it is totally worth having. I enjoy the outdoors and love sports. I'm a sports enthusiast. My favorite sports are tennis, basketball, and football. You can also always find me with my nose in a book. Nothing gives me more pleasure than finding a good book! I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am serving in the Baltic Mission Latvian Speaking. Being a missionary is hard but so fun and rewarding. Trying to figure out how to help people and how to teach is really frustrating. Sometimes they don't want to listen, but I know that what I am doing is right. That God loves all of his children and he wants to help them. He knows who I am and wants me to be the best me that I can be.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. My parents raised me on the teachings of the Book of Mormon. I was taught to pray and have faith in Jesus Christ. My parents' example showed me what to expect from living the gospel. I gained a testimony of the gospel little by little. When I was a young child I would go to church and feel the Spirit. I was taught simple truths which made sense to me. I know that Heavenly Father loves me and all of his children. I know that he wants a relationship with me. I know that he cares about everything I'm going through. I know that his son Jesus Christ is my savior. I know that through him I can return one day to the presence of God. I know that no matter what I do, I will always be loved. I know that Jesus Christ loves me. I know that he is with me through everything. I know that his prophet Joseph Smith truly saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that he restored his church once again upon the earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book. I know that it is a witness of Christ. I know that it gives me strength when I read from it. I know that Thomas S. Monson leads and guides his church today. I know that he is a true prophet and what he has to say is from the Lord. I truly believe in this gospel. I have seen the blessings the Lord has given me. Whenever I need his help I know he will give it to me. I have seen his hand in all things. He really does care and wants what is best for me. I love this gospel with all of my heart. I know that without it I would be lost. With all of the stress of going to school right now and working and trying to have a social life, the gospel and living my life according to God's will has really helped me balance everything. This church is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I draw strength from it everyday. I know it is true and cherish it in my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating in church. I go to church every Sunday. I have a calling in my ward. It is the compassionate service leader. Basically I make sure that everyone in the ward feels welcome and that unity can prevail. I am aware of the needs of others in the ward. I try to help in any way that I can. I also love attending church. We have so many opportunities to give service. I am always strengthened and uplifted by the messages shared. I also try to read and study my scriptures everyday. Not just the Book of Mormon, but also the Bible and Doctrine and Covenants. Each book of scripture has so much to offer and teach. I also try to live my life like Christ. By learning more about Christ I can emulate his life better. I try to be aware of those around me and seek opportunities to serve. I try to be a friend to everyone I meet. I try to let God's love shine through me.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures are sweet words of wisdom. They give me strength when I read from them. They are a precious tool given to us from a loving Heavenly Father. The best blessings I've received from reading the scriptures is having them relate to my life. When I ponder the scriptures I find that what I am needing in my own life comes to me. They are a way that the spirit can talk to us. I learn from the lives of others who have gone before. They also teach me about the life of Christ. When I study more about him I become more like him. What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is a women's organization. It was established by Joseph Smith in 1842. It is to help build faith in women and families. I love the Relief Society. I am a member and have been for three years. As sisters we help build one another up. We have weekly meetings on Sunday as a part of our worship service. Together we teach each other about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a worldwide sisterhood. One of our main goals is to offer relief in any way spiritual or physical. We work together to ensure no one is falling behind. We have many service projects and strive to better the world. It is an amazing group of women of all ages. I love attending Relief Society meetings. I learn so much from them and it strengthens my testimony. Show more Show less
