Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in Japan and Spain. I am graduating in sociology from BYU. I love being with friends and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am graduating in April and am so excited to continue my education and get a Masters in Social Work. I love to play all types of sports, especially basketball, soccer and softball. I also enjoy going to concerts, listening to music, going to dances and blasting the music in my car. I love living life and learning about different cultures and traveling. I lived in Spain for a year and a half as a missionary for the LDS church and enjoyed my time helping people and getting to know who they are. I grew up as a military brat living in Okinawa, Japan for 12 years and Spain for 3 years. I enjoyed living overseas and being able to make new friends. I love hanging out with friends and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I continue to follow His Gospel because of the experiences and answers that I have received from my loving Heavenly Father. The way I knew that I wanted to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ was because of how I felt when my parents would talk of Jesus Christ, when I would attend church, and when I read the Book of Mormon, which is a testament of Jesus Christ. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel the love that my Heavenly Father has for me and for all of His children here on this earth. When I prayed to know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon I felt a peace that was all encompassing and brought joy to my heart. I am so grateful that I asked my Heavenly Father whether the Book of Mormon was true and thereby knowing that the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth today. I know that my Heavenly Father is a loving father and truly hears our prayers. He loves me. He loves you. He has blessed us with the ability to know for ourselves whether His Church is on the earth today. I testify that it is and that you can know through earnest prayer and reading the Book of Mormon which is another testament of our Savior Jesus Christ and goes hand in hand with the Holy Bible.

How I live my faith

In my ward I am a Family Home Evening leader, which means I am in charge of getting some people together for a weekday meeting. This Family Home Evening is where family or friends get together and meet to be spiritually uplifted and to enjoy one another's company. We sing, pray, learn, eat food, and play games. It is a time to build friendships and to get closer.
