Hi I'm Dave Cowan

I grew up in Henderson, Nevada. I'm a full-time student hoping to be a full-time provider for my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm someone who loves the outdoors. I'm a short drive away from some of the best areas nature has to offer. I'm currently a full-time student seeking a degree in Physical Therapy. I enjoy photography, when I can get around to it, and I am intrigued about electronics, yep, all the tablets, smartphones and other technology that power our world. I currently have no children, but hope to have a couple before I'm too old. I like to learn new things, and am adamant about bringing happiness into my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a Mormon, or as its officially called, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Sometimes I get weighed down by the everyday problems we all experience. You'd think that trials and tribulations are enough for me to start to doubt God, or doubt the love he has for me. To the contrary, trials and tribulations are blessings in disguise sent from a loving Father in Heaven. They have always strengthened me and taught me that God has just a little bit more in store for me that I need to figure out with his help. I know that he hears and answers prayers. You may have thought in your life that he was some mysterious far away being, and you might not have known if he could hear you at all. Now that I have prayed unto him, I know that he is very close, and very real. If you want God to answer those prayers, seek him in the scriptures, both in the Bible, and the Book of Mormon, a companion volume of scripture that go hand in hand with the Bible. I have received great answers to prayers from feasting daily on his holy word. You can know for yourself that he answers prayers and that he guided ancient prophets to write holy things in the scriptures, such as the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a small part of my community. I know a couple of my neighbors, which wouldn't have happened if I had not gone out and introduced myself to them. Now I am great friends with both of my neighbors and a couple of families that also go to my same church. I serve as an assistant to my bishop at my church. The Lord always gives me ways to change, to grow. I have seen that in my calling and duty at church. I remind other members of important events, things and places, and sit in on their discussions of the needs of the members of my church. This way we all work together to minister to the one, the individual, one individual at a time.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Dave Cowan
Family has always been important to me. I know that the family is under attack in our society today. If you learn about why family is so important to me, I know that you will come to appreciate those that are close to you, like your family. Show more Show less
