Hi I'm Caroline Texeira

I'm an artist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently an Art Studio major at a university in a small town. I was born in Brooklyn, but I do not consider myself to be a "city girl." Although I briefly lived in New Hampshire, I moved upstate almost right after I graduated high school. I love all kinds of art more than just about anything else in the world. I love photography, ceramics, drawing, film, printmaking, and, most of all, painting. Art is my passion. I can't imagine being nearly as happy as I am without it in my life. I love to sing, I love to hike and snowboard. I LOVE basketball. Stars, snow, trees and nature are so important to me. I also love sunshine. I enjoy reading and writing, and spending time with people that I care about. I love to laugh and there is always a huge smile on my face. I love Heavenly Father and my life would be nothing without His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Catholic church by my loving parents and other members of my family. Although I always had a firm belief in God, I felt as though there was something more that I was searching for. Through a few trials and tests of my faith, I found my way to the Mormon Church through the help of a friend. My first Sacrament Meeting was Fast and Testimony Sunday. As soon as I walked through the doors, the sense of family, belonging, and love overwhelmed me. I knew, from the second the testimonies began, that I had found the True Church. I knew that the Spirit was there and with me. Most importantly, I knew that I was home. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the gospel have changed my life in the best way I could have ever imagined. I will follow His gospel for the rest of my life. Heavenly Father has blessed me so abundantly and has given me so much hope and so much to be thankful for. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and for the presence of the Spirit in my life. I am Mormon because it is the True Church. It is a beautiful religion and I love it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being, and portraying myself as, a happy and obedient daughter of God. It is important to me to have my faith be a part of my every day life. I am proud of who I am and what I stand for. I believe that being Mormon is about more than attending Sacrament Meeting, Sunday School and Relief Society each week. I believe that it is a constant attitude, and way of life. I live my faith by keeping myself healthy, being happy, being kind, and being honest with myself and others. I try my hardest to share my joy with the people that I encounter and to try to share the love of God and His gospel with anyone and everyone. I want every person in the world to know how amazing He is. I have recently been called as the Young Single Adults representative at my branch. I do my best to include everyone in activities that go on in, and out of, the church. It is important to me to make sure no one feels left out or alone. One of the things I love most about being Mormon is that the whole branch feels like a big family. It is important to me that everyone feels included in the family that I love so much.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Caroline Texeira
Through studying the scriptures, and following the commandments that the Lord has given us, our faith in Jesus Christ will grow every day. I have personally seen an increase in my faith and testimony as I have read and studied the Book of Mormon. The more we know about the Lord, Jesus Christ, and the Spirit, the more likely we are to have a strong belief in them, their gifts and blessings, and in the teachings of the Church. In order to grow in our faith, we must have a firm foundation in the teachings. This can be attained through study, prayer and the desire believe. Show more Show less
