Hi I'm Elva

I'm a wife, mother, grandmother and I do bookkeeping and office contract work for small companies in my area.

About Me

When my children were home, I loved being a homemaker; cooking, sewing, organizing carpools, teaching preschool classes, piano, dance, cleaning, and creating an environment that would allow my 6 children opportunities to progress. Now that most of my children (four girls and two boys) have left home, I’ve had the opportunity to continue my education and have employment outside of my home. I love what I am doing now. My greatest days are when my children and their families come for a visit. Family is a really important and lasting thing in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My ancestors gave much for the gospel. Some came from Europe leaving family and everything they knew. Some gave their lives during the expulsion from Nauvoo. The ones that lived stayed active and raised their children in the church, so, I was lucky and learned about the gospel at a very young age. I cannot imagine a life that doesn’t have the understanding of Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation in it. Through the difficult times in my life or just when I have questions, the gospel has brought me peace and understanding. There are some things that happen on this earth that are very painful and do not make sense. I am thankful to have an understanding that there is more to my life than just this earthly experience. I have am thankful my Heavenly Father would allow his children to progress and advance through choice, experience, knowledge, and consequences even when they are very painful. What loving parent would not want their child to have all possible opportunities?

How I live my faith

I pray, I read the scriptures, and I trust in my Heavenly Father’s plan. I still have moments of self doubt, but I do not doubt Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for me. That allows me to keep going each day and again the next day. My experience has shown that, given time and through the atonement of Jesus Christ, even the painful and difficult experiences of life have been turned for my good.
