Hi I'm Debra

"I spent most of my adult years in Gold Coast Queensland Australia. I recently married and relocated to Kentucky USA.I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in Adelaide South AUstralia. At nineteen I stretched my wings and left home to pursue a career as a flight attendant. I flew for one of the major airlines in AUstralia for 5 years. I eventually ended up in sunny Queensland, on the Gold Coast AUstralia, where we raised our two sons in what I would call a ideal place to raise children. We enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle, surfing, and family outings from the beach to the beauty of the tropical rain forests. I eventually went back to work after many years of being a stay at home mum raising our two boys. My path lead me to retail Pharmacy sales for the next five years. After remarrying in 2010 I relocated to Kentucky USA. I have one son who is currently serving a full time two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has been a real blessing to our family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by loving parents, although they were not members of the Mormon faith they taught me good morals and principles. However, I had cousins who were brought up as members of the Mormon faith. I would often spend weekends with them, and attend church with them. I always had a good feeling when I entered the Mormon CHurch, and going to the lessons they taught. At the time I didn't really understand what that feeling was, but later I came to recognize that feeling as the Spirit of the Holy Ghost witnessing to me that this is where I needed to be. Through the choice of a career path my life style was such that I didn't make CHurch a priority. It wasn't until many years late, when faced with a major challenge. I turned to my Heavenly Father in prayer and asked for His help. It was then that I asked the missionaries to teach me the first discussion. I felt those very same feelings as I did in my youth when attending church with my cousins. I was baptized not long after. Being a member of the Mormon Church has richly blessed my life, and my family. I love the principles and moral the Gospel teaches children, especially in today's world.

How I live my faith

I love attending church each sunday. I feel it recharges my batteries. I love learning about the Gospel, and hearing the testimonies of others. Their testimonies strengthen my own. I have made many lasting friendships. I am grateful at the opportunity the Gospel gives me to serve others. My current calling in the church is teaching the young women aged 12 -18. I love teaching the young women of the church. They in turn teach me so much, and are a fine example to me. Teaching is a great opportunity to learn, as well as teach. Our knowledge is something we carry with us into the eternities. Communication with my Heavenly Father through prayer is essential in my day to day life. Prayer has lead me to make good choices and decisions in my journey through life. I have had many answers given through prayer. I know the Lord hears and answers prayers. I love being a member of this church. I couldn't imagine my life without it.
