Hi I'm Courtney.

"I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul." -William Henley

About Me

I believe anything is possible. I love meeting people, seeing different places, embracing foreign cultures, and trying new things. I grew up in Maine and Kentucky. I moved to Oerlinghausen, Germany when I was 16 as an exchange student. After graduating and attending BYU, I moved to Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, for 18 months of missionary service. I am currently a senior at BYU and passionate about making a difference in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Because it's true! I've never had to take someone else's word for it, I've found out the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for myself. Even before I could read, I remember developing the habit of getting on my knees at night in prayer. And I know, just as I knew then without doubt, that someone was listening. Over the years I've tried to (hopefully) improve my prayers so that I am the one listening, as well. I have a strong testimony that we have a loving, infinite, and eternal Father in Heaven who hears and answers our prayers. He has a plan for us, a plan of happiness. As we immerse ourselves in the scriptures and draw near unto Him in word and deed, He will be our best friend and guide. He will direct our paths and lead us back home to Him.

How I live my faith

I believe in miracles, not grand coincidences. I believe that God frequently uses people as His hands on Earth to facilitate such miracles. One of my favorite scriptures comes from the Bible in Philippians 4:13: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Often He strengthens us through other people. I live my faith by trying to be ready to assist in that cause.
