Hi I'm Jillian Sherwood

I am from small town Iowa, preparing to serve in the Canada Montreal mission! And I am a Mormon. Bonjour.

About Me

Hello! My name is Jillian, soon to be Soeur Sherwood. I was lucky to be born and raised in this gospel, with thanks to my wonderful parents. I have a twin sister and two brothers! Family is very important to me and I am thankful for my testimony of the Plan of Salvation, knowing that I can spend eternity with my family! After my mission I am planning on attending BYU to seek out my BSN. I love to serve and care for people and nursing seems like just the right fit! Well, I better get back to preparing for my mission...Au revoir.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a member of this church has been a very rewarding thing. I gained a testimony of my own when I was a freshman in high school. I had just finished reading the Book of Mormon, and as I prayed to know the truthfulness of this gospel peace came to my soul, and from that moment on I have an unwavering faith that this church is the key to everlasting joy. I am not the typical Mormon, I don't live in Utah and I don't have a desire to be an avid scrapbooker. However, growing up in a town where there were not many Mormons my own age proved to be a very rewarding thing. Being one of the only Mormons in my highschool I found it a challenge to be an example to those around me. I was always being watched, always being tested. People knew I was a member and wanted to test my limits. I can honestly say that I am grateful to those people who tried my beliefs, I have them to thank for making me the strong person that I am today. One of things that helped me to live the standards of my Heavenly Father was the pressure of being an example to my friends. I know that through my example and through the standards that I chose to live I have set a gospel seed in the hearts of my friends and those who knew me. Having to be an example is one thing, choosing to be a good one is another. I hope that through my actions and through my friendly smile I am able to stand as a true advocate for what this church believes and what I find to be eternally rewarding.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis. Through my actions and words I can chose to bring myself closer to God and be a missionary to those around me. I know of the importance of reading my scriptures and praying daily so that I can properly arm myself to face the world and the trials that are ahead.
