Hi I'm Tien-Hsuan Lee

I'm from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in London. I love art, music and the gospel of Jesus Christ!

About Me

I was born and raised in Taiwan. I speak Mandarin and English, but I don't speak Taiwanese, unfortunately... I was born in the Church with "goodly parents"! I have an older brother and a younger sister, and we LOVE each other very much. Except my little sister, all my family have served a mission. We love sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. I studied graphic design for uni in Hawaii. I love drawing and singing. I'm crazy about photography. I can spend hours and hours editing the pictures that I've taken, and then share them on my blog with others. Hopefully, I'll be able to become a fashion photographer in the future. I enjoy singing a lot, especially when I sing hymns. I sang in a band and wrote songs when I was in high school. That was a wonderful experience. I know music can be a prayer to God as well. I'm currently serving a full-time mission in the England London Mission, and I'm loving every second of it. It's the best decision I've ever made so far!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church. My parents got married in the temple. They taught us according to what they've learned in the Church. Even though I grew up in a good environment, I'm a Mormon isn't because of my parents. I'm a Mormon because I know this Church is true myself. For a child like me who grew up in the gospel, it is challenging to find and develop my own testimony but not taking everything as routine. When I was away from home for studying abroad, I have learned to rely on God and truly live the gospel. I realized that I'm not perfect and I need Him to help me. The members and my church friends helped me a lot. I have learned and grew so much as I keep staying on His path. I've seen the improvement and happiness that gospel has brought to my life. I believe all good things come from God. Sometimes it is hard to describe the feeling of knowing something, but you just know it in your heart, and my heart tells me that being a Mormon is a right thing to do.

How I live my faith

My family and Church are two major parts of my life. Besides spending time with my family and going to school, I usually participate a lot of church activities or meetings. My calling in the ward is teaching youth gospel at Sunday school. As I help them to understand more about the gospel, I have also learned a lot from them. It is a blessing to be involved in their activities often. I love being with the youth in church; they're my good friends. Visiting teaching is one of my favorite things to do. When I visit other sisters in my ward, I get to know them better and make more friends. When I spend time to care about them, I feel happy and forget my worries from life. I've realized as I serve others and help them, the problems that I'm facing, in some ways, will be solved too.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Tien-Hsuan Lee
For young men in the Church, our prophet has clearly stated that it is every healthy young man's duty to go on a mission. To sisters, it is optional, but church appreciates a lot for the sister missionaries. Church would never force anyone to do something against his or her own will. God needs voluntary young men and women with a willing heart to help Him build His kingdom on earth. I'm going on a mission soon, and I know it will be a great experience that will benefit not only my life but also others. Show more Show less
