Hi I'm Kaylee Lindahl

I am from Colorado. I study vocal performance and love speaking Chinese! I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I love music. It has always been a way to let out emotions and even share my beliefs with others. I also love Chinese. I studied it throughout high school and planned on studying it in college. I traveled to China twice to live and during my high school years had three Chinese exchange students. When I got to BYU-Hawaii, however, I had to choose between music and Chinese and it was a terrible decision to have to make! My two favorite things and I couldn't do both! I decided to study music, but continue to use my Chinese for the better. Someday I want to create a children's choir to take to China and bring music to schools in China. Music is a gift that educators are beginning to take for granted, and I want to change that.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon so I grew up in the church. Often times growing up, I did not cherish the gift that I had that so many people do not - a knowledge of the living Christ and His teachings through the Book of Mormon. I have developed a perspective about life that helps me through even the most lonely and unbearable times. I know that if I give all that I have, Christ will make up the difference. He died for me. He wants me to be like Him and will do all in His power to help that happen if I do all I can, too. The Gospel gives light to my life when sometimes things seem dark and hopeless. It allows me to be an example to others and teach with the Spirit. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and my greatest desire is for others to feel that love as well. I want to shout His words so that everyone can receive the blessings that I have because I know that He lives!

How I live my faith

In the church, there are so many ways to serve, and one of the ways I have served is through teaching the young children in the church. That is my favorite way to serve. I was given the great opportunity to tell the 6 and 7 year old kids the stories of Jesus Christ when He came to minister to the Americas. It is amazing the joy that I got from seeing their little eyes light up because of the miracles Christ administered. Right now, I serve by teaching women once a month and looking after them to make sure everything is going well in their lives. If they need help, I will be there. They are students like me and it is wonderful to know that I can help them when they need it.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kaylee Lindahl
You know when you have really exciting news that makes you so happy you just want to tell everyone about it? That is how I feel about being Mormon. I have the most amazing news you will ever hear and want to tell everyone I know so they can be excited too! I don't want anyone to miss out on the blessings that come from being a Mormon. Mormon missionaries have messages that are life changing, and they know it so they want to share it with all those willing to accept the words. They are people just like you and me, but they have given two years of their lives to share the greatest message they have ever heard. Show more Show less
