Hi I'm Trina

I'm a wife and a mom. I stay home with my kids. I like triathlons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a mom. I have two kids. They keep me busy. Before I had kids I ran a small custom frame shop. I gave it up to stay home with my children. The decision was easy, I wanted the best for my kids and felt like the only way that could happen was to be their main care giver. At times I miss things about my past job but overall I'd do it the same way if I had a do over. I try to stay physically fit by challenging myself and signing up for triathlons. Each time I sign up for one, I panic but then my amazing husband gives me a much needed pep talk and I start training for it. I don't claim to be the best... just to try my best. I grew up in a family of all sisters. Five girls over thirteen years. I cherish my relationship with each one of them. We truly are each others best friends. We are always there for each other. My husband and I like to spend time together cycling, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, and trying new things. We find that when we spend quality time together our relationship is strengthened. My husband and I have struggled with infertility, unemployment, and other challenges that life brings us. We feel our marriage is strengthened the more we rely on our Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that are members of this church, so at an early age I have been taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was taught to seek truth out and then ask for a confirmation of it. I know that through sincere prayer we can each receive answers to our concerns and questions. I have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit many times. I feel like I am where I am because of the direction I have received. I know that if I live the gospel I will be blessed. I know that God is our Father and that He knows us individually and that He loves us. I know that He sent us His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ is our Redeemer, our Savior, our brother and friend. I have felt His atoning love many times. I know that there are prophets here on the earth again. I know that God speaks to prophets so that we know what we need to know in order to survive this earthly test. I know that Joseph Smith was instrumental in the restoration of the Gospel in this dispensation. I have received a personal witness that he did see our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I also know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I challenge you to read and pray about it. We are promised that if we sincerely read, ponder, and pray about it, we will receive a witness of its truthfulness. I have read and prayed about it many times and continue to keep receiving the same witness. It is true.

How I live my faith

I am a visiting teacher. A visiting teacher looks after a number of women by visiting, caring for, and being friends with them. I enjoy the relationships I have gained from past and present opportunities to meet new women. I look forward to meeting new women and becoming their friends too. I also have the opportunity to serve the women in my ward by praying, visiting, and organizing activities for them.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

I had the opportunity to serve a mission. The thing I loved about my mission was that we were able to share messages of hope. We were able to teach people that Jesus is their Savior, that He is real, and that through His Atonement we all have the opportunity to return to live with our Father in Heaven again.
