Hi I'm Leanna

I am from Wyoming. I love people, art, and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town with a rich culture in farming. My parents had eight children and I am the second youngest. I am closely knitted with all my family-grandparents, cousins, parents, siblings, nieces and nephew- all of them. I love being active. Some activities I enjoy are running, hiking, soccer, swimming. When I graduated high school, I put a resolute goal of traveling to a foreign country once a year, and so far, I have succeeded. I have gone to Thailand, Israel, Egypt, and Uruguay. My next stop: Scotland. I am currently an art major and will finish in about two years. I love college and learning. Progressing in life is my goal, and that's the beauty of life is that there is always something new to learn and do. I also enjoy sports, reading, cooking, fashion, and the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been so blessed as to have been raised in a Mormon family. I was baptized at the age of eight and have always enjoyed living the Gospel of Jesus of Christ. But like every individual, I needed to find and develop my own living testimony of it. I put myself to seriously study the scriptures and the doctrine. I began to notice patterns of obedience to the Lords commandments and the blessings He rewards. I also began to feel and recognize the same patterns in my own life. When I follow the Lord I am blessed. Walking the footsteps of Christ, I felt then and continue to feel in my heart that Christ lives. I feel His love in all things around me. I want to be happy- I want to follow Him, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love being a Mormon. It's who I am and who I am becoming. Part of that includes saying my prayers and reading in the scriptures everyday. I also love to serve and help others. I served a mission for 18 months. And currently, I am part of the presidency of our woman's group. Weekly, we meet together as women to learn, teach, love, and serve one another. I, with the presidency, help anyone of these women with her problems or concerns. Its been so wonderful because as young college students, we are constantly faced with stress and challenges from the world and we need the support from one another. I try to live my faith by being a good person and doing what Christ wants me to do. I know when I am living my faith because I feel peace and happiness.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Leanna
Yes, we do believe that the Bible is the word of God. We believe that Bible is a collection of inspired writings from men of God called Prophets. These prophets lived and spoke to people of ancient Middle East. And we also know that God had children in the Americas and had sent prophets to guide them. Their writings are now what we callng the Book of Mormon. Together these two books provide so much scriptural guidance in our lives. I personally have deep love for the Bible. I love the rich stories, culture, and doctrine is contains. There is a deep substance to reading and learning from the Bible. Show more Show less
