Hi I'm Julia

I'm a wife and mother. I'm a musician. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. I'm the 3rd of 10 kids. I've always been drawn to music and have a degree in classical piano performance. I'm married to my very best friend, Taylor, and we have three daughters. I'm very lucky to be able to stay at home with our girls. I love writing down all the silly, sweet, or even naughty things that my girls do. We've lived in Kentucky for the past 8 years and love it! I think Kentucky is the best-kept secret in the U.S. I enjoy traveling and have been to France, Italy, Switzerland, Hawaii, Isreal, Jordan, and Egypt. I love baking a little too much, especially with my family. I like to read any chance I get.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS (Mormon) family and was baptized when I was 8 years old. My parents taught me and my siblings their convictions, and I believe it was because of their teaching and feeling the Holy Ghost in our home that I knew these principles were truths from a very young age. As I grew, my knowledge of Jesus Christ's gospel and my testimony of its truthfulness grew. It made sense to me, and felt right. But my religion has become much more to me than just making sense and feeling right. It has brought me purpose and understanding of what is important in my life. I have found joy in the seemingly mundane and I have found peace in the hard and trying times. And I know it's because God knows and loves me personally, and He guides and blesses my life. I know He wants us to be happy. He knows what real, meaningful happiness is, and He has taught us how to achieve it...by obedience to His commandments. I know that because of Jesus Christ's atonement, I can be forgiven of my sins and be judged worthy to live with God and my family forever. There is nothing that would bring me more happiness!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching my children to believe in God, and by continually striving to make my relationship with God a better one. I do this by trying to learn more about Him in the scriptures, and by praying daily for His guidance in my life to help me be a better person and a better wife and mother. I am indebted to Him for this amazing life He has given me, and I am happy to serve Him in any way I can. I currently play the organ for our Sunday worship services. In the past, I have been a Sunday school teacher, a leader for the teenage girls' group, a teacher in the children's Sunday school, and a full-time missionary serving in France.
