Hi I'm Jacob

I love playing baseball, I love to sing, I love to dance, I love playing the drums, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up with two amazing parents who always support me and teach me how to become a better person. I am the third of four boys, and we have a lot of fun playing sports and playing music with each other. We even have our own band! We love watching movies and quoting them later in our conversations just to keep things interesting. I love hanging out with my friends and telling them jokes. We have so much fun! My life motto is that when it is time to be serious, you need to be serious; and when it is time to have fun, you have fun! I also love eating great food (especially my mom's home-cooked meals!) and I eat it fast! I love learning new things that enrich and bless my life. Most of all, I love finding ways to make others that are around me smile.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I was a member of this church, because I have grown up in the church, I didn't know anything else, and my parents were members. As I have grown up, I have begun to learn and understand the amazing impact that living this gospel has had, and continues to have, on my life. Through my application of its teachings, I have seen greater blessings in my life than I could've seen without it. Along with this, I have seen the emptiness in the lives of those who do not have this gospel in their lives. These are great people who I love. But something seems to be missing. I have gained a strong testimony that this church is true and that it has the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ came to the earth and atoned for all of our sins, and that He was resurrected and lives today. I know that we have a Heavenly Father, who gave us this life. Through His plan, we can become like Him and return to live with Him again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it blesses the lives of those who read it. I know that it testifies of Christ and contains the fulness of His gospel. I know that we can pray to our Heavenly Father anytime that we want and that He will answer our prayers. I love this gospel with all of my heart, and I don't know how I would live without it.

How I live my faith

In my ward back home, I was able to teach and learn with a group of men that gave great insight on how to progress and constantly strive to become better each day. We had great opportunities to serve those in our community. I especially loved serving the older people who needed our help. It was so rewarding to see the good that you could do in their life. I truly feel like a tool in God's hands when I serve others. And now I am serving the Lord full-time for two years in the Scotland/Ireland mission. What a great blessing! I am also able to attend church each Sunday and receive teachings and personal revelation from Heavenly Father. There, I continue my learning and understanding of the scriptures and their teachings. I pray morning and night to thank the Lord for His great blessings that He gives me and to ask Him for His help and guidance in my life. I read the scriptures every day (a little from the Bible and a little from the Book of Mormon). I study their words and receive revelation for what I must do. Saying my prayers is how I speak with my Heavenly Father; reading my scriptures is how He speaks back. As I do these things, I become closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am able to feel the Spirit and it greatly blesses my life. It gives me guidance, comfort, protection, warning, understanding, and testimony. It is truly the greatest of God's gifts in my life. As I do all of these things, the Lord continuously blesses my life and those around me.
