Hi I'm Connie

I'm a Mormon. I was born into a Mormon family and raised in the Church. I am a mother of 12 children.

About Me

I grew up on a farm in Idaho with 7 brothers and sisters, in a family that worked together and played together. We enjoyed sports, especially water skiing and related activities in the summer. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Home Economics Education. I have been a stay at home mother and have 12 children, 6 boys and 6 girls. Our last child left home recently, so we have been making the adjustment to having an empty nest. So far we have 20 grandchildren, so we are still busy with family activities. My family is my greatest joy in life. I enjoy sewing, cooking, and gardening and I volunteer to give tours in pioneer homes in our area. I still enjoy sports - watching children and grandchildren participate.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but they did not participate actively in the Church. When I was a very young child my mother would take me and my brothers and sisters to Sunday School and Primary and leave us and then come and get us when it was over. As I learned about Jesus Christ and His Gospel, I felt that the things I was learning were true. It was at Sunday School that I first heard about eternal marriage and the concept that families could be together forever. It concerned me that our family had not been sealed for eternity in the temple and I felt a longing for this blessing, even at a very young age. Gradually my parents did become active in the Church and about a month before my 12th birthday our family went to the temple in Salt Lake City and were sealed for eternity. I was so happy for that special occasion and it brought great joy to our family. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints became the center of our lives, and as we participated in Church regularly, our testimonies grew and we felt so much joy and happiness. I knew that I wanted a temple marriage also and when the time came for me to be married, I was able to be sealed to a wonderful young man in the temple. He has been a wonderful companion and a great father. I am so grateful for the guidance and direction that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me in my life and in raising my children. I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and I am grateful for His atoning sacrifice which gives me hope of eternal life with my family.

How I live my faith

My family and the Church have been the center of my life. In our community I have served as a 4-H leader and a Cub Scout leader for many years. I have also worked in the PTA of the schools. Church participation has given me many opportunities for leadership with the women, youth, and children. I have also taught in those same groups. At the present I am teaching the 5 and 6 year old children in Church and also serve in the women's organization to help provide service and caring to other women.
