Hi I'm David

I was born and raised in Utah. I love sour patch kids, HAVING FUN, laughing, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a missionary in the Florida Tallahassee Mission and I am 20 years old. I went to a college before I came here on my mission. I am done with the Missionary Training Center and I will be going to Tallahassee, Florida to serve! When I was at home, I like to sing, play guitar, and play piano. I also liked to do many things with friends, such as table tennis or foosball, and just laughing and talking with them. I love enjoying life. Because life is just so great! Through joy and through hardship my life has been shaped through my Heavenly Father. He gives me everything that I am! And I know He loves me. I thoroughly enjoy nature because the beauty of it really shows how God loves us to give that! I am had a great experience here at the MTC and I am so excited to serve! I love having a great time and enjoying life. I plan to be a family man when I am home from my mission. I want to be the best father I can be when that opportunity comes about. That is the most important thing we can do in this life and it makes me so happy to think about it! I am excited for what the future holds on my mission here in Florida. I love the people and I am growing so much from being a servant of the Lord. "And the king shall answer and say unto them, inasmuch as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me" (Matthew- new testament, king james version)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because I have found out for myself. When I was twelve years old I read the Book of Mormon all the way through, and I have read it three or four times since then. Each time, I asked my Heavenly Father to know if it was true. And each time, He gave me a feeling through the Holy Ghost to know that it really was true! Since I was twelve I have had many hard times in my life. But as I have I had faith in my savior Jesus Christ, I have been reborn so many times. He has carried me more than I even know. He has lifted me from my darkest places. When I thought all was lost, His spirit was there right beside me, showing me how I can be like Him. And showing me that these things will only be for a small moment, and that these hard things will be for my profit and learning. He is my Savior, my Exemplar, my Redeemer, my brother, and my Friend, and I know it without a doubt. I am NOTHING without Him. I cannot deny it. And I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live and exercise my faith by being the best missionary I can be. Right now I am just trying to improve myself. I am trying to learn to become selfless. I am trying to have love like the Savior so that I can truly help those He wants me to help.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

I want women everywhere to know that how you dress affects the mind of a righteous young man. You know what proper covering is. And if you don't, it is explained in the "For the Strength of Youth Pamphlet". When any woman endeavors to draw attention by immodest dress, they create immense temptation to every righteous man. They cause him to have oppposition that is extremely difficult to overcome. And they put his thoughts in the wrong place. I know this by experience. It is so uplifting to see a modestly dressed woman. She is so much more beautiful and she is pleasing the Lord when she does so. I address this because I know it is problem. Not only for girls, but men should follow this standard as well. Look to the Lord for help if you are confused about what you should wear. This can help us all to keep our thoughts clean and steer completely clear of problems that can come from letting those thoughts stay. As you pray to know why you should be modest the Lord will confirm the truth of it unto you. I know this is true. Show more Show less

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

This could be talked about quite a bit. But essentially God is the one who chooses the next prophet! Show more Show less
