Hi I'm Faith.

I'm a piano player, Senior Class President, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hmmm...where to start? I guess you could say I've always loved life. Every day I wake up and I honestly am grateful to be able to have that day. I've been blessed with a very loving family who allows me to be me. I have the opportunity for education, something I am sure I take for granted every day. I have friends who support me for my beliefs and love me even more because of them. I have gift from God- the piano- well really I would say my gift is the ability to love music. Music is such a powerful thing, and when we combine it with the power and love of God, it becomes an unstoppable force.

Why I am a Mormon

This is a question I am asked every day, if not by others, than myself. In all honesty, the Gospel gives me so much happiness, that I sometimes cannot contain it, and just have to tell myself to calm down! As I am sitting in sacrament every Sunday, I slowly but surely start to feel the stress leave and feel the relaxing/comforting feeling of The Holy Ghost. I know that we all have a Heavenly Father and a brother, Jesus Christ. I know that the Savior died on the cross for all mankind to have the opportunity to repent. I know that families can be together forever by being sealed in the temple. How grateful I am for Joseph Smith to be able to have the courage, faith, patience, and steadfastness to be able to restore the fullness of the Gospel and bring forth the records of people from the ancient Americas around the time of Christ's birth, or what is know called The Book Of Mormon. I am especially grateful to our prophet and apostles who lead us and guide us and give us actual modern revelation from God in our time. I know that modern revelation is truly of the Father. How great is it to know that He is still giving us direction in the last days! So why am I a Mormon? Because without the church I am lost. The Gospel is the light of the world. Without it, I have NO idea where I would be, but I do know that with the Gospel, I will always know where I can be, and that is with Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith simply by being me- and no, not because it is my name! I am me in the sense that I allow the church and all of its glory to shape me. I do believe that we are all born with certain personalities, but sometimes society can make us different than who we were originally. As I become closer to my Heavenly Father, I become more in tune with who I am. I realize what gives me feeling. Some example are piano, music in general, giraffes, jellyfish, toe nail polish, knowledge, head bands, curly hair, family, friends, the color red, laughing, and respect. Some of these may seem silly, but they honestly make me who I am and draw me closer to the Savior- well as much as toe nail polish can! ;) I live my faith by being me and allowing the Savior into my life, whether it be by praying, reading my scriptures, or singing songs that remind me of Him everyday. Simple as that!

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Faith.
Yes! Yes we do! We love the Bible, and we believe it to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. The church uses the King James version of the Bible. It is such a powerful witness of Jesus Christ and his ministry while here on Earth. Also, the Bible and Book of Mormon are compliments of each other. They each add and enhance the other's message. We believe them both to be the word of God, so far as they are translated correctly. Show more Show less
