Hi I'm Merilee

I am very blessed. I know where I came from, why I'm here, and where I'm going. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a person, I like to write stuff. I like to create things. I like to build in an abstract way. Artistic is what my mother would call me. I always have way more ideas and intention than actual works of art. If I had my way, I would have art all over my house. I would have a million mosaics. On my floor, on my wall, in my garden. That is as it should be. I love dancing, singing, reading, soccer, art, and beautiful things. I love getting my hair cut. I love talking. I love talking to people. I love babies. I love Charles. Honestly, I love talking with people that are older than me because I have so much to learn and they have such great stories. I love talking with people that are younger because I'm so glad to be out of high school and to know exactly who I am. I'm also grateful to know my path and to feel the power to change what I am not.

Why I am a Mormon

The more I live a life similar to Jesus Christ, the more clearly I can see my potential. I wish to be happy and help others be happy. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ clears a path of action for me. When I feel the love of God in my life and count my blessings, I find peace in my heart. I am happier when I spend time with others. I once lived by myself for two months. I found a loneliness in my home I had never felt before. When we feel that sadness, it draws us into ourselves. We then feel our problems get bigger and our lives seem harder. We often don't want to leave our houses or spend time with others. I get bored with myself, but meeting others that believe in Jesus Christ clarifies my purpose in this life. I see the blessings in their lives. Likewise I see blessings in the lives of those who do not believe in Jesus Christ, but know they are blessed and are grateful for them. I know I am here on earth to live a good life. I am here to prove I can live a good life regardless of temptations and darkness placed in my path by Satan. I have never found any way of life that has been more complete than the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is a clear necessity for authority given to men from God declared in the Bible. I know the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. I have a testimony, or knowledge of the true authority of President Thomas S. Monson as the living prophet of God today. I know God speaks to us, as a group, through prophets and individually, through inspiration and prayer. I know the scriptures have blessed my life in a very personal way. Often. That reminder keeps me reading them when I am tired or too "busy". We must be anxiously engaged in the work of our Father in Heaven. If we are not, we become apathetic and let ourselves coast into spiritual regression. I am a mormon because I know this gospel to be true and have found a knowledge of this truth in my heart through scripture study and prayer.

How I live my faith

I like interacting with others. There are so many people to connect with, you just have to go outside and meet them. Events are great ways to meet people. Community centers, game nights, and libraries are great places to see people. I think the more interaction we have with others, the smaller our own problems seems and the greater our connection and love for others. This connection helps us develop Godlike traits and keeps us striving to be better.
