Hi I'm Travis Ryan Lee
I'm a Mormon.
I claim Florida as home...but that's a long story. I am currently a missionary in the Oregon Salem Mission, (O.nly S.acred M.ission) and have loved every minute of it! On February 29th 2012 I left for the MTC and won't return for 8 year (leap year and all). Other than being a missionary, my personal life consists of; intense piano playing (I've been playing since five years of age), a strong desire to teach and become involved with high school students and maybe college students as well... focusing my life to the administration side of things, I also play percussion instruments and have other "abilities" as well, I enjoy baseball (GO BRAVES) more than other TV shows or movies, I love the beach and want to live on the beach, I also have many new found passions for several activities like hiking, skiing, racket-ball, (sky-diving...someday) and body surfing (i am still undecided if living on a beach or near the mountains will be more adventurous), and I enjoy cooking food that is super good along with biking, ultimate Frisbee, football and pretty much sports. My plans are BYU for school and hopefully getting a degree in Administrative Education. I have also been told that I have a dry sense of humor, but don't worry... I love sharing the Gospel to every person that I see! I have a testimony of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and have devoted the rest of my life to the Master for all that He has done for me!
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in the church and was baptize at the age of 8. Throughout school, mainly High School, I was persecuted by all the "Bible Belt southerns." I knew somehow all their insanity would give me some added testimony of the adversary and his reality. In fact it gave me a better outlook on the rest of my life. I saw the evil and hatred surrounding other religions, especially surrounding families and their relationships. The main reason why I currently and will always be a member is because I love families. I love it! I can't wait to be a father and become a wonderful husband. My time as a missionary have affected my (bias) opinion of Mormon beliefs (who cares... I love being a Mormon) , and I have a testimony of the Restoration of the church and Plan of Salvation that I will honestly say has shaped my views of other religions. I love all the members because everyone is always smiling. I know from reading the Book of Mormon that Joseph Smith was visited by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was given the privilege to restore the Church of Jesus Christ to the Earth in its fullness. It was tough in High School, but being a member will strengthen my future family and provide me with wonderful guidance in the life to come!
How I live my faith
Let me tell you I live it everyday! Before the mission I honestly knew very little about the word application. Now that I've stepped out into the world and started this adventure of teaching, proselyting and "doing", my whole outlook on my Father's plan for me has changed. Before I was thinking about living a life of unsure belief and using the rote presentation of, "I would like to bear my testimony, I know this Church is true," all the time. But now I see beyond the overly used cliche testimonial, although a powerful testimony does spawn from the single belief that you "know" its true. I've found that knowing doesn't mean anything until you apply it. Living Gospel standards is tough work, but the most rewarding in that you see the real blessings from all the work and labor and love you put in! How do I live my faith?...... everyday begins a new chapter and every moment my eyes are focused on the eternal salvation of others. Step by step all will come into the fold of God. Missionary work is that way to help others unto Christ and gain Eternal Life! I definitely plan on continuing this life-long assignment from my Heavenly Father!!
