Hi I'm Kevin Ung

My grandma, brother and I joined the church when I was 5. It has made such a difference in my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am eighteen years old and a freshman at Brigham Young University. I am preparing to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am excited about my missionary service where I will give the Lord two years of my life that He has blessed me with. I love playing sports, of which a few of my favorites are Ultimate Frisbee, basketball and running. I love music and enjoy learning to play instruments. I love being involved and love people! I enjoy planning activities and advertising to people! I love children and babysitting brings so much joy to my life. I love being around kids, it may be because I can easily relate to them. I ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track and played lacrosse in high school. I am an Eagle Scout and loved all my experiences camping. I have been involved with many programs in high school. I want to be an Architect and focus on residential housing. I plan to build my future family a home.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love this gospel. I love trying to do what is right. Everybody is a child of God and is blessed with so many things. It makes me happy! I joined the church when I was five. I had a testimony my whole life, but it was not until my first youth program called "Youth Conference" that I really had a firm testimony. The conference focused on the Joseph Smith through which this gospel was able to return to the Earth. In the early 1800s, Joseph Smith had a simple question of what church to join. As he studied the Bible he came across a verse, James 1:5 which read, "If any of you lack wisdom let him ask of God..." He took this to heart and found in a grove of trees a place where he was able to pray to God. He received a vision of the Father and of the Son. By the power of God was he able to restore the true church again to the earth. I know that God loves each and everyone of us. He spoke to his prophets of old like Adam, Moses and Abraham, and he still speaks to his prophets today. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. His gospel is a message of peace and goodwill and allows all to be truly happy. He wants the best for everyone and He has a plan for everybody. The savior Jesus Christ sacrificed Himself for the world. He lived a perfect life and died for each and everyone of us so that we may be able to use the atonement that he has already paid for through His blood to cleanse ourselves of our sins. He overcame the world and now lives with the Father in Heaven. His sacrifice gives us hope to be forgiven of our own sins. Nobody is perfect and this allows us to be clean. His gospel promises that families can be together forever even beyond mortality. He sees in us potential to do anything we put our minds to. I am grateful for my many blessings in my life. I love the Lord and this gospel. I know the Prophet Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. He guides this church today and speaks to the Father in Heaven. I know that God knows us personally.

How I live my faith

I help plan activities for my friends. I try to think of activities that best help individuals' needs with spiritually uplifting and fun ideas. Promoting good wholesome recreational activities for the the youth provides a great atmosphere to allow for positive growth physically and spiritually. A companion and I get to meet with 2 families to help them with any problems that they might be having or just to say hello. I have had great experiences serving the Lord in this capacity.
