Hi I'm Amy Peterson

I'm a Mormon. I was born and raised in Utah. I have many dreams and goals that I can't wait to acheive. The future is bright!

About Me

I am a sophomore in college, my major is Interior Design, and I plan getting a minor in Photography after that. I am in love with a boy who is serving a mission in Argentina, and I couldn’t be more proud to be a missionary girlfriend! :) Sometimes I’m way random, and I don't care much what people think about me! I am a very picky eater, it’s not my fault, blame my taste buds and tummy! I have memory issues, and I forget things VERY easily... like which way we're going in a basketball game! I LOVE skiing, snowboarding, sports, tubing down rivers, riding four wheelers, camping, roasting marshmallows, boating, hunting, making sand castles, swimming, riding horses, mowing my lawn, wearing my black rubber boots, putting crazy clothes and make up on, dancing around like a freak, singing very loudly and probably way off note, I LOVE photography, outdoors, flarp, bubble wrap, straws, flexible rulers, ANIMALS! I grew up on a farm with horses, ponies, dogs, cats, and bunnies!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active LDS family. Being a young kid, going to church was just a normal thing for me, I didn't think much about it, and when I was 8 years old, got baptized and became a member of the church. As I got older I began to realize the blessings and happiness living the gospel brings. I read and studied the scriptures and went to church because it was what made me happy, and I could feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost testify to me of its truth. I gained a testimony of the gospel, and it is something I will never lose. I am so blessed everyday by living what I believe. I believe in the scriptures and in the prophets teachings. I know there is a living prophet here on the earth today. I know through following their guidance, I can live my life closer to the Savior. Through prayer I can talk to my Heavenly Father and thank him for all he has given me, and ask him for further help and blessings. I know Christ atoned for my sins, and because of that, if I make a mistake, I can pray, repent and ask for forgiveness, be forgiven, and I can improve myself and not make that mistake again. I wish everyone would accept the gospel into their lives, because I have it, and I KNOW of huge importance it is to live our lives in way to please God. When doing so we are preparing ourselves for the live to come after death. Living the gospel can ensure everlasting happiness, both in this life, and in the eternities.

How I live my faith

Just recently I had the wonderful opportunity to be a primary teacher and I got to teach ages 7-8 year olds in my homeward. They are such sweet little angels, and it was so fun and rewarding to be able to teach them what I know to be true. Now, I am currently attending a singles ward. (A ward just for young single adults between ages 18-30) It is wonderful to be around people of my own age and to have talks, lessons, and activities planned just for our age group. I learn so much every week and it’s truly inspiring me to be a better person every week. Right now, for my calling in the church, I am a part of a "Linger Longer Committee." We plan for everyone to stay after church twice a month and have some food and talk for 15 minutes or so. We plan it and prepare the food. I also just barely got asked to be a visiting teacher, so I can go out and visit with women in my area/ward, and get to know their sweet spirits, and share my testimony of the gospel with them. I also live what I believe day by day. I have high standards and values to which I act accordingly. I dress modestly. I listen, read, and watch only wholesome entertainment. I am honest and virtuous and live my life to be clean and worthy to enter the temple someday. I give 10% of any money I earn to the church, and I serve others. The amount of time and money I give to the Lord is nothing compared to the enormous amount of blessings I receive from him when I live what I believe. I am truly blessed more than I deserve, but I will forever be grateful and cherish the gospel of Jesus Christ, and try to live my life so that I may one day return to live with my Heavenly Father.
