Hi I'm Jake

Smiling is a good thing, I've had trials to make me stronger, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jake. I'm a momma's boy! I grew up in Utah, currently serving a mission in Texas. I'm 21 years old and love to be active! I want to get into rock climbing and I love hiking, playing music, shooting, staying fit and anything outside!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as a Mormon. I have always relied on my parent's testimony, until I was about 17 years old. I had a pretty big surgery and later followed many complications. Initially, the surgery went great! The results were perfect and I was so happy! But it wasn't for too long. I had a surgery infection, a serious one too. Antibiotics could keep the infection down, but ultimately were ineffective. This caused a tremendous amount of pain physically and pyschologically. I didn't know why this had happened to me, but I'm grateful for it now. While spending many days in the hospital I had alot of time to think, pray, and learn to lean upon the Lord during my trials. It was this that caused me to gain my own testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. Heavenly Father kindly showed me through trials of my life that He loves me and that He cares. He was willing to put me through that so I could have a stronger and more firm testimony of His church established on the earth once again. When we go through trials we can do only two things: act the way the Savior would act and learn and grow from it for our own benefits, or not. I'm grateful for the opportunities that I've had to grow and become closer to my Savior and Heavenly Father. This gospel has blessed me beyond comprehension and I know that this is the true church!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my hardest to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Loving others (although somtimes difficult), and serving them. Helping others in their times of need, as He would help me is one way I can show my love and faith to the Lord. "This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you." --St John 15:12
