Hi I'm Danica

I am a country girl at heart living the city life. I sharing my talents through performing and teaching. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Eagar, AZ where I did a variety of things from hunting, camping, backpacking and fishing to singing and dancing and running cross country. I'm the oldest of seven children. When I went to college I decided to go to Brigham Young University and pursue a degree in Music Dance Theater. I graduated in April of 2014 and now I teach music, dance and acting classes to kids and youth. I served a mission for the church in Spokane Washington Spanish Speaking. I love speaking Spanish especially to people who aren't expecting a pasty white redhead to speak their language so well. It's a great conversation starter. I love sharing my talents and my beliefs with those I meet. That is what brings me joy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because, even though I was raised one, I came to a point in my life where I had to decide for myself what I truly believed. Pursuing a career in the performing arts is difficult enough but add on top of it the standards that I was committing to uphold made it a lot harder. It really limited the number of shows I could do and the roles that I could accept. I decided that before I got in any deeper I needed to make sure that everything I was living was truly what I wanted to do forever. I decided to take the invitation given in Moroni 10:3-5 which invites all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, ponder it's message, and pray to God to know if it is true. As I sincerely studied, pondered, and prayed I came to know with an even greater surety that this church is Christ's church once again established on the earth and that as I live by the teachings I can truly be happy in this life and for eternity.

How I live my faith

I believe that being a member of this Church isn't just a passive part of my life. It's an active, everyday effort to learn, grow and serve. I live my faith one day at a time. I know that I'm far from perfect. I've had times in my life when I felt so overwhelmed that I was never going to be able to do all the things I needed to in order to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Then as I studied the scriptures and prayed for the abilities I felt I was lacking I realized that the Atonement of Jesus Christ has made it possible for me to grow and change gradually. I don't have to be perfect right now. I just have to try one day at a time to do the things I know to be right. As I apply the cleansing, healing and strengthening power of the Atonement daily. I feel a sense of peace that I am living my faith. I am then able to reach out to others and lift them. My faith is not just something I have. It is who I am.
