Hi I'm Dianne, AKA @BookofMormonRDR

Some call me The Queen of Makeovers. Look GOOD. Feel GOOD. Be GOOD. Do GOOD. I read The Book of Mormon on YOUTube & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm first a daughter of our Heavenly Father; then a wife, mother, sister, auntie, friend, neighbor, much like YOU, I'll bet. I'm also a college graduate, native Californian, positive thinker, optimist, and deeply concerned, patriotic, ESL-teaching American. I adore my family, flowers, and chocolate. I enjoy laughing and fine dining. I wear so many hats, like Bartholemew Cubbins, and that's what makes life so interesting. As well, I enjoy helping others as a make-up artist, a YouTuber, a radio show host, and author. Some call me "The Queen of Makeovers", inside and out. My specialties include skin care, cosmetics, jewelry, divorce recovery, social media marketing, and SUNSHINE. I believe in GOD. I believe in keeping and striving earnestly to keep His COMMANDMENTS. I believe in FAMILY and MARRIAGE between a man and a woman. I believe in FREEDOM. I believe in an honest day of work for an honest day’s pay. I believe in charity and the goodness of humanity to care for the truly poor of their own free will and choice, not by government mandate. I believe in the CONSTITUTION of the United States. I believe in the ideals of the FOUNDING FATHERS of the United States. I believe in Freedom OF RELIGION, not freedom FROM religion. I believe people have a right to their own idea of worship AS LONG AS THEIR beliefs don’t infringe on MY rights and beliefs. I believe CHARACTER and INTEGRITY matter. I also believe in FORGIVENESS, REPENTANCE, and SECOND CHANCES.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's true, and we have Jesus Christ's authority bestowed by His own hand, traceable in priesthood lineage back through Peter, James, and John, who were given their priesthood from Christ Himself. What that means is that The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints is actually Jesus Christ's restored church, complete with prophets and apostles. I'm a purist, believing that foundations from which everything else is built matter. It means a great deal to me that the leaders, both local and world-wide, did not study for nor campaign for their positions; they were plucked away from their money-making metaphoric nets to follow Him and they, too, willingly "straightway left their nets". As well they are not paid for their work in the ministry. That alone is HUGE to me that not only I accept callings for zero financial gain, but the entire leadership is considered a lay ministry. There isn't one single "professional" singer or speaker in our church. We do not serve or perform for money, we only participate as part of our willingness to sacrifice our time and talents in our worship of Jesus Christ and His saving gospel that offers Eternal Life to souls like mine, in desperate need of forgiveness and saving. I remember reading a crisis of faith blog post about how many pastors didn't believe anymore, but they couldn't quit their "job" because it was their livelihood and family's means of support. It also doesn't go unnoticed by me that our members have access to blessings, officiators, and facilities for FREE for funerals and weddings. I am a privileged and honored to declare with sound mind and unwavering faith and commitment, that I am a devout life-long member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints, with a humbling and illustrious ancestry of equally devout pioneer heritage. Although I was Born In The Covenant, at some point I questioned my faith and realized I knew it was true all along, so I was re-committed to my devotion.

How I live my faith

Funny how you can sometimes tell that a person believes in God OR NOT because of how they act. But truthfully, how could a person who truly believed in being Christlike NOT have their daily behavior reflect their beliefs? It is said in Matthew 7:16 "By their fruits ye shall know them." Loving children obey their loving parent's rules. Heavenly Father loves us SO much, that He gave us commandments and the ultimate example, His Son, as well as living prophets today, just as in times past, to show us the way to eternal happiness. The sooner we realize that His commandments do that instead of restrict us, the sooner we can experience true joy. (Just look how miserable people are when they break His commandments.) That being said, I willingly strive to follow the counsel given by prophets in our day regarding just about everything in life --what to eat, what to wear, what to watch, listen to, have on the walls of my home, and more--DAILY, not just on Sunday. I eat healthy food, I refrain from partaking any harmful substances such as coffee, tea, drugs, or alcohol, and I honor my body as the holy vessel of my Spirit by not having tattoos or excessive piercings (one per ear). I dress modestly and practice excellent hygiene. I bathe, wash my hair, brush my teeth, and do my best to look lovely daily. I know how fiercely committed to beauty God is, I feel it a divine duty to honor and unveil the beauty He blessed me with. I watch uplifting media only and avoid rated "R" movies. I listen to beautiful music. I read great books. I study His Word intently. I use the power of my words to bless and build others, not bruise or belittle them. I serve countless hours in my callings at church, attend weekly meetings and strive to attend the temple monthly. Mostly I try to be a good person and help others. I love it when I offer help to my mom. She closes her eyes, tilts her head back and smiles, saying, "Ahh, it's like music to my ears." That always makes me laugh.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Dianne, AKA @BookofMormonRDR
It has been said that reading The Book of Mormon will bring a man closer to God than by reading any other book. That's HUGE. Why? I think it's because it's another witness of Jesus Christ that Bible lovers will rejoice in. Absolute truth can not be withheld from a sincere seeker. The Lord's pattern of speaking through prophets is continued in The Book of Mormon, a translation of sacred ancient writings, buried on the American continent by a prophet named "Mormon" who foresaw OUR day and testified they were for US. Later, the writings were unearthed by a humble latter-day prophet named Joseph Smith. The book testifies of Jesus Christ, God's son, our Saviour. He visited the people he spoke of in John 10:16, His "other sheep" and they recorded it. For me, The Book of Mormon is a wonderful gift that keeps on giving. No matter what I read or how many times I read the same passage, I receive something new and edifying, depending on what I need. Truly, we are shown answers to our prayers by letting Him speak to us through His Word. My brother said it was like a Rubik's Cube, with an infinite number of solutions. Near the end of The Book of Mormon there is a great promise in Moroni 10:4 on p. 529 that if you read The Book of Mormon and sincerely pray about it, you can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true. I love that you can go straight to your Heavenly Father and He will let you know in your heart personally. You don't have to take MY word for it. Try it yourself. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Dianne, AKA @BookofMormonRDR
As my mortal body continues to get older and more fraught with aches and pains, I have come to realize and appreciate that the BODY, my BODY, your BODY, is the distinction and reward for eternal life when it will be in its perfected form, the BODY!!! It's a BODY we get as a reward for choosing His plan in the premortal realm. It was the punishment for those who did not to NOT get a body...EVER! Never will they experience all we do WITH one. It helps to serve as a reminder when I'm hurt, that even in that state of pain, it's my blessing because I chose correctly before I ever came to earth. Consider this, all of Satan's tactics to derail us from progressing through mortality, basically overcoming our flesh, all have to do with our BODY and its appetites. Obsession with self through hyper fitness and/or addictions of any and all kinds are equally threatening to our spirit in their extremes, diverting our focus from our path on our way to eternal life and serving others. I overheard a group of young men in a little sandwich shop going on and on about "next this" and "next that" and couldn't help but wonder what they were talking about. I finally heard enough to realize they were talking about their tattoos and what design they were going to get next and where. It dominated their entire existence and I have observed the same from other tattoo-bearers. That's one reason why I guess it took a latter-day prophet to boldly and unequivocally declare against the practice. Show more Show less
