Hi I'm Gary

I'm a regular, unleaded human. I read books, climb mountains, eat celery and play video games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the father of four little people, each with their very own personality. They give free hugs and smiles and I take advantage. I'm married to a beautiful woman that occassionally wishes she could run away to an exotic island and lounge on the beach instead of do laundry. I eat cereal every morning. I push buttons on a keyboard for about 8 hours each weekday. I'm schooling in the evening after putting (for the 47th time) the kids to bed. If I have spare time I'll spend it with a good book or play an MMORPG with friends. When I lived out west (before I had 6 mouths), I loved to wander the mountains without shoes. Not the mountains, me. Well, the mountains didn't have shoes either so I guess you could read that either way and you'd be correct.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a Mormon. I love that my faith makes sense. Understanding who God is, our relationship to him and what his purpose is gives meaning to and provides answers to lifes questions. I appreciate that my church involves everyone. We all have opportunities to serve and it's wonderful. One of the more unique things I hear from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the frequent instilling the desire to seek knowledge and answers. While faith is vital, my church truly advocates the seeking and knocking spoken of in the scriptures and I have always found answers (whether I liked them or not).

How I live my faith

I've had numerous opportunities to serve in the church. I've been blessed to be able to visit the homes of other members, help with missionary work, teach classes on Sunday and much more. I love teaching... if you can call it that. I love having discussions about my faith. Sharing what I've learned and learning from others. I'm amazed by how many lives have been touched, in very personal and powerful ways, but our loving Heavenly Father that watches over and blesses us. He is very active in all of our lives.
