Hi I'm Hilary

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After high school I attended Brigham Young University and graduated in 2009. For the past couple of years I have been working full time while my husband finishes graudate school. I was married in 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada and since then we have enjoyed taking on all of life's opportunities and challenges together. Some of my favorite hobbies include going to the gym, reading, scrapbooking, and watching all kinds of sports on TV. My husband and I have also taken many fun trips this year to several different cities within the US.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints becuase of the joy it brings into my life. There is nothing else in this life that can bring more happiness, peace, and guidance than living the gospel of Jesus Christ. The knowledge that there is a plan for each of us and that Heavenly Father knows us individually and our personal struggles is something that I draw on daily for strength to get through each challenge I am faced with. The knowledge that my marriage and my family do not end at death and that families are forever brings great peace and comfort into my life. I also love serving the Lord through my calling with the Young Women in our ward. It is great to see how much the church does for the youth and how hard we work to make the next generation a strong and reliable one that will have the strength and courage to face an increasingly wicked world. I also love knowing that we have a living prophet of God on the earth today that speaks to us and gives us counsel and guidance specific to the challenges we face in the world today. Through personal prayer and listening to the words of the prophet I feel like I have a personal relationship with my Savior and that I can receive the guidance and strength I need to make it through each day. If I was not a member of this church I know that my life would be in a much different place than it is today and I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving faithfully in my calling in the church, holding personal and family scripture study and prayer each day, attending the temple regularly, and looking for opportunities to serve others around me throughout the community. I believe that one of the most important things we can do to serve the Lord is to serve others. I love that I have a chance to serve the youth of our church and that I have the opportunity to plan activites and lessons that will help develop them spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially. I also enjoy getting involved in community service opportunities such as putting together kits for the hospital for newborn babies, helping with tornado cleanup, visitng nursing homes, and many other things within the community we do as a church to help those in the communities in which we live. In addition to these things I try to maintain my relationship with the Lord through consistent prayer and scripture study so that I can be in tune to what He wants me to do and be ready and willing to do it!
