Hi I'm Elinor

I’m petite, blessed & I love my dogs. On Sundays, I couldn’t be any happier because I get the blessing to be a Primary Teacher.

About Me

Hi! I live in San Fernando Valley. I plan on attending Culinary School some time this year, so I hope to make that happen for myself because I love to cook. I enjoy helping others, so when I am able to make that happen - I love to volunteer for charities, non-profit organizations, hospitals etc. I am currently volunteering for Donya Bell of Wagging Tails Animal Rescue and I am a foster parent for two loving Chihuahuas - Coco who is 4 years old and Lily who is 3 years old. Wait! That's not all folks, I have two of my own little rascals, but they are my world - a 1 year old American Stafford Terrier named Rocco and a petite 2 year old Chihuahua named Lily. So yeah, I have my hands full and I love all four of the happiest, outgoing and playful dogs. But whenever I am able to take a break from my four legged companions - I'm sailing away with my dad and his crew for a day sail. I enjoy being outdoors and I take my dogs with me whenever I go somewhere (only when necessary). My goal is to be married in the Temple to my one and only, so we'll be sealed for all eternity; sustain priesthood in our home, be obedient to the commandments, be the best companion to my husband, always keep strengthening our home and family, enjoy the blessings of exaltation and love the life that I have been blessed with and the guidance of our Heavenly Father by answering my prayers.

Why I am a Mormon

I love our Heavenly Father with all of my heart & soul and I know that he loves me too. Having to be baptized as Catholic when I was an infant, I was forced to attend mass growing up with my grandmother who had strong faith and love for God. But growing up with the knowledge I was given at Catholic school – I felt lost, like something was missing in my life. Last year December 2011, my brother and I got to talking about how his church is different than what we believed in at my church. Since we both attended a Christian church – I didn’t know what I was missing until he informed me God’s Plan for Happiness, The Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, having a living prophet today and the temple. Before you know it, I had two missionaries come to my house and delivered my very own copy of The Book of Mormon. I prayed for so long to find the right church and turned to the bible for guidance. I remember reading, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him” (James 1:5). After studying carefully with the missionaries and having the desire to seek the truth, I didn’t feel lost anymore. Finally, I was ready for my special day – the day of my baptism. I know that The Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, I believe that through the Atonement of Christ – everyone will be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel and The Article of Faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by applying The Articles of Faith to my life, being obedience to our Heavenly Father’s commandments, reading and keeping the Sabbath day Holy by attending sacrament on time and afterwards, attend scripture study and The Relief Society meeting. I strive to live the Young Woman's Values and The Relief Society Declaration on a daily basis.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Elinor
Yes, I believe with all of my heart and soul that a husband and wife can be together forever. And families will reunite again in heaven, so they can live together for all eternity. I read an article about The Eternal Blessings of Marriage written by Elder Richard G. Scott and he said, "The temple sealing has greater meaning as life unfolds. It will help you draw ever closer together and find greater joy and fulfillment." Plus, one of my favorite scripture says, "Jesus Christ gave power to His disciples to seal families together forever when He said, “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19). Now, knowing that my husband and I will be sealed together with all of our children for all eternity - is an incomparable gift and a true blessing from our Heavenly Father. I cannot wait to be sealed with my future husband in the temple and live an everlasting life with our family - for eternity. Show more Show less
