Hi I'm Madison Heal

I'm 21 living in Adelaide, studying at university, am a convert to the church, preparing for a mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I turned 21 at the beginning of this year. I was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. I moved out of home at 16 and moved to Cairns, which is in the very North of Australia. Here I was baptised into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints shortly after my 17th birthday. A year after being baptised I moved back to Adelaide and then to London, United Kingdom for a year where I worked at a cafe on the River Thames. I traveled Europe and the UK with friends I met along the way. I had some amazing experiences!! I moved back to Adelaide and I am now currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Flinders University, I plan to major in finance and become a financial adviser.. I love numbers - they make sense to me!! I am putting my degree on hold to serve as a full time missionary for the church for 18 months. I hope to be serving by the end of this year. I LOVE spending time with my friends, I look at them as the family that I choose. I LOVE the beach and summer makes me happy. I LOVE extreme sports, anything that produces adrenaline, and gives me a natural high. I LOVE fitness and going to the gym. I LOVE to study and to learn. I LOVE travelling and learning about other cultures. I LOVE to experience anything and everything. I LOVE to be happy. I LOVE this church and I LOVE being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happier then I have ever been. I wasn't searching for happiness when I joined the church, my life seemed pretty great already, but greater happiness found me. Having the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me, and that my Savior died for me, is the greatest knowledge I have. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the greatest gift I have ever been given. The Book of Mormon is a book that guides me through my life. I now have the ability to pray to my Heavenly Father at any time I need, I am able to repent for the mistakes I make, I am able to see the bigger picture in life because I have the knowledge of the Gospel. I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, he knows me individually and he wants me to be happy. I have said this word so many times in this section - happy. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. I don't know how else to explain it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing those around me that I chose this life. I show this everyday in the way I dress, the way I speak and in the decisions I make. I am fortunate to be a convert of the church. I joined shortly after my 17th birthday and am the only member in my family. I joined through combined efforts from friends and the missionaries in teaching me to understand the gospel principles, learn of my savior Jesus Christ, build a relationship with my Heavenly father and know of the truths for myself by praying and receiving confirmation from the Holy Ghost. I attend my church meetings every Sunday and any events throughout the week. I have callings in my church and try my best to lead and to follow. I try to be an example to my friends and family and to live as faithfully as I can. I share the gospel every chance I get - I love to be questioned and asked questions in regards to my faith. The most frequent question I get asked is why did I chose to get baptized? My answer is, simply, because I KNOW its TRUE. This is a conclusion that I came to on my own and through personal prayer. Choosing to be baptized and become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the best decision I have ever made, without any doubt.
