Hi I'm Amy Matson

I love sunshine & being in the mountains. I love my family. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 years old and originally from Utah, but I am currently serving a mission in Texas. I am the youngest and only girl in my family, with three older brothers. I love my family! I love hiking in the mountains & enjoying the beauty. Most of all I love the gospel & am grateful for the opportunity to share it everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because it makes me happy. The gospel is nothing but love of God & his blessings to his children. It is such a comfort to know why I'm here on earth and that I don't have to do this alone. Jesus Christ is with us each step of the way: strengthening us, loving us and carrying us through both the happy and hard and happy times! We are not ever alone. I am Mormon because it gives me direction. If i ever have a question or concern, I know what to do! Pray about it. Heavenly Father didn't send us here on this earth without the things we need to help us return back to him. We have the true word of God. The Book of Mormon holds the fulness of the gospel along side the Bible. We have prayer. We have leaders and a living prophet that cares for us that help guide us through their words. I am Mormon because I know Heavenly Father wants me to reach my full potential. By living the gospel, each of us can become what Heavenly Father wants us to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being happy! I live my faith by being a missionary for the church, and sharing the gospel.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Amy Matson
The church has over 100 temples around the world! Visitors are welcome to enjoy the temple grounds and visitor centers. But, only baptized and qualified members of the church are invited to participate inside of the temple. In the temple, church members make promises with God and perform ordinances for themselves, and also in behalf of those who have died, without the knowledge and opportunity to make and receive the necessary covenants in order to live with God. The temple is a house of learning. Members of the church learn more about the purpose in life and how to return to live with God and our families eternally. In the temple, sacred ordinances are performed through the priesthood authority of God, that bind families together for all eternity. Only through the temple are we able to return to God's presence after this life. The temple truly is heaven on earth! Show more Show less
