Hi I'm Holly

I love my amazing husband, our seven wonderful children & our five beautiful grandchildren. I love living. I love being a Mormon.

About Me

With my newly blended family I am a busy mom and grandmother who enjoys keeping my days full of hard work, fun activities along with some down time. I enjoy gardening, and being outdoors. I also have the special opportunity to visit with foster children as a social worker on a part-time basis. I love the fulfilling work it is to care for children who have had very difficult circumstances placed upon them by no fault of their own. I love watching my daughter participate in sports, concerts and in many other great activities. My son is currently serving as a missionary in Brazil and loving it. As a family, we like to serve others who are in need, go camping together, play games and just sit at home and chat away the evening! We enjoy running and any outdoor activities and reading our scriptures daily together.

Why I am a Mormon

Have you ever asked yourself why you are here and what your purpose is on this earth? Have you wondered where you are going after this life? Being a Mormon has answered these questions for me. I feel very grateful for each day that I live and I want to express that gratitude to Him for allowing me to have these daily experiences. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ, found in the Mormon Church allows me an increased opportunity to give a little back to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for everything they have done for me.

How I live my faith

I love to help others in any way I can. I have the opportunity to direct and teach the youth girls in my church. They are so much fun and my daughter is one of them. We spend time participating in Sunday lessons and weekly activities such as learning a new skill, providing service to others or even playing games. It's a great place for the youth to feel important and loved in an environment outside of school. The gospel of Jesus Christ is my life, in the sense that the way I govern and direct my life is constantly guided by the way I feel Jesus Christ would want me to live. This brings me much happiness and joy as I know that my life has purpose, helps others, and brings me closer to God.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Holly
Before a certain individual knew I was a Mormon he made a negative comment to a group of men that I was meeting with about the Mormon Church being a cult. Yes, Mormonism is unorthodox, but we are not a cult. Our church is unified in its effort to bring people closer to Jesus Christ and to help and serve others around the world. It is a beautiful church and strives to help each individual be the best he can be. I love being a Mormon for those reasons and I was proud to say to the men I was seated with that I Am a Mormon!
