Hi I'm Wendy

I currently am a student in high school. I love to learn. And plan to serve a full time mission soon. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi as you've read my name is Wendy. I am a highschooler, a senior to be exact. I have two sisters and a brother. I live with my father. My mother lives in Central America. I enjoy reading whenever I find a good find, once in a while. I have a diverse group of friends all creeds and nationalities and religions. I like to share my beliefs with others. I plan on serving a full time mission this upcoming year [2013], and am so excited. I have been through my share of trials and hardships but life goes on and I've learned to deal with it. I plan on applying to both BYUs when I get back from my mission. And hope I can have a career where I can help others and learn from others.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my childhood my family looked for "that church." When I was smaller I first attended the Catholic church with my family. My mother then searched and searched. We went to methodist, evangelist, and baptist churches and she could not find it. One day we came across missionaries from The Church of Jesuschrist of the Latter-Day Saints, it was then that I felt we had truly found it. The church had such a different feel about other churches. I felt so loved and welcomed by all. I got baptized in 4th grade. With time I have come to learn of the truths of the gospel in this church and I truly feel with all my heart that this church is true. I don't want to imagine my life without it. I have come to have such a strong relationship with God, and have come to understand my purpose in life. I want everyone to experience the joy I have of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. I love this gospel. I love my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Sunday isn't the only day for worship, every day is. I love church. Since I am in high school I attend a thing called Seminary before school each day. We study the scriptures; this year we are doing the New Testament. Wednesdays I go to the activities the youth have, we do very fun activities from trivia to making cute artsy headbands (in the girl group) to doing service to others. Thursdays I go to another thing called Institute, I go for a Religion class. I am currently learning of the Book of Mormon, it's great. Sundays I attend the church meetings and am delighted of all which I learn and am taught. The days I don't go to Seminary, Institute or Church I find opportunities to share the gospel with others. I want everyone to experience the joy I have come to find. Some people find it odd that I dress modestly, choose to hold off serious dating till later in life, prefer not to drink caffeinated alcoholic beverages, choose not to smoke or do drugs, or the fact that I choose not to cheat. I choose not to do so because I know that I can experience more happiness by abstaining from these habits, behaviors and substances. I love to find opportunities to help those around me. I am there for anyone in need, or at least try to be. As I read the scriptures I learn and try day in and out to apply the principles to my life and grow day by day.
