Hi I'm Josue

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I love thin-crust pizza, I'm a Latin dancer and I'm a Mormon. "FUHGEDDABOUDIT!"

About Me

I'm a latin-american born to Ecuadorian parents in the city of dreams! I love cultures of all kinds, and sharing my differences and similarities with people. I'm the oldest of three kids, and enjoy the perks that come from it. I'm very sociable, yet very reserved to myself, all at the same time. Probably the biggest contradiction you'll ever meet, and i'm ok with that! I love to hang out with my friends and family, dance like no one's watching, play sports, and go to Times Square and soak in the city vibe!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in a melting pot, i was exposed to a lot of different beliefs, life-styles, etc. It was great, but at the same time confusing. Both my parents are converts to the church, so my siblings and i were brought up in the LDS faith. Though i believed in it all my life, when i was 18, my exposure to different opinions and creeds led me to question my religion. Despite my confusion, i had the faith that if i asked God for direction, he would give it to me, and he did! I now know that The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. It's a knowledge that no man can give, or take away. I also know that God hears and answers our prayers, what a beautiful concept, right?! and that means everything to me, and can do the same for you!

How I live my faith

I am serving a 2-year mission (August 2010- August 2012) in the great state of Idaho (Idaho Pocatello Mission)! As missionaries, we have the sacred privilege and responsibility to share our beliefs with all people living in the area we're assigned to. It's not an obligation to serve a mission. I chose to do so out of my own free will. I do it because i've been blessed with the knowledge that God has an undying love for all of us. Unfortunately, not a lot of people know that. It's really gratifying to help bring them unto that knowledge so that they too might know that they're not alone in the world, that someone is watching over us at all times and only wishes the very best for us. I believe in the potential the world has to do/become better. Only the gospel can help with that! Upon returning home, I plan to continue helping others through good example. It won't be easy (i guess that's why they call it the "Concrete Jungle"!), but it'll be worthwhile!
