Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a nurse, I'm a musician, I'm a mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a working mother, I work at a local hospital in the medical ICU on the midnight shift. I also have recently started doing triathlons, and my goal is to try to go to an olympic length. I don't like running as much, but I am trying to work up to a marathon soon. I guess I can't claim age as a problem, but my last triathlon was the first to not have more than three 60yo men pass me. Other interests are music, I have a degree in music before I went back for nursing, and I like to write and arrange music. I hope to start doing that more, and am looking into entreprenurial things to let me stay home and do this more.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a member all my life, growing up in Michigan I didn't have many friends who believed as I did. When I was in high-school I finally really took the time to find out what I truly believed, and it was then that I really became a member. It started with listening to a copy of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the house I was babysitting at. The music was great, but then I wanted to see if that was really what happened, so I started reading the Bible. That led to reading the Book of Mormon and at the same time I started praying again. I gained a testimony of my own that I knew that Jesus was the Christ, and that he also visited people on the American Continent.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being kind to everyone I meet. I need to work on how I am in my car, but I think I have been doing better in general. It can be especially difficult with some patients at work, but I find that I feel so much better with myself when I do. I also try to be totally honest, live up to my word, and find ways to serve others every day, in big and small ways.
