Hi I'm Kinsey Coffeen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student at BYU-Idaho, but I will be taking a break for a year and a half as I serve my mission. I will be serving in the California Riverside Mission, Spanish speaking. All throughout high school, I played water polo in the fall and participated in the school musicals in the spring. Music is a big part of my life. When I am not eating or sleeping, I am singing or playing piano. I have written many songs with piano accompaniment and I have written songs with my sister on the guitar. Singing these songs is the way in which I can truly express myself, which is why I love it so much. I am very close to my family, and spend most of my time being with them.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I never had really thought about the church much. I just understood that I needed to go every Sunday. Church has always been good and fun for me, but I didn't really understand it when I was young. As I grew into a teenager, I gained a strong testimony of the church. There are so many reasons why I am still a strong member. One is that I have felt the Holy Ghost in my life countless times. Whenever I feel the spirit, I am really happy and always want to have it constantly with me. The Holy Ghost has also confirmed to me that this church is the only 100% true church on the earth. When I feel the spirit, there is no way I can deny the church. Another is that I have read the Book of Mormon and I just know that it is true. It all just makes sense, and there is no way that it isnt true. Also, whenever I am at church or youth activites, I am always the happiest I ever am. I dont love anything more than this church, so when I am at church, I am truly happy. I just feel all-around good inside when I am there. The last reason is that this church is the only one that completely makes sense. All the mysteries of life can be and are answered with all the information we have, and everything about this world just comes together. The church always helps me realize why things are the way they are and why they are happening. It gives me a positive outlook on life and gives me hope.

How I live my faith

I try to use my faith everyday, as I study either the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price and as I pray all throughout the day. I go to church every Sunday and partake of the sacrament and attend my meetings. As I go through difficult times or challenging situations in my life, I do my best to apply everything that I have learned and everything that I teach to others in such a way that I can grow closer to the spirit and to Christ. I do all that I can to rely on my Savior and to trust in His plan for me.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kinsey Coffeen
There is a true and living prophet on this earth for these latter days. Our Father in Heaven is a God who is unchanging in the things which he expects of us and the ways with which He speaks to us. Though the trials and abominations of the times of old are not the same as those of our time, our need for a living prophet is the same. Heavenly Father knows that we are in need of direction and support, and He will not leave us without a source of light and truth on which to rely upon. I know that what the prophet says and testifies of is true, for I have obeyed and trusted in his counsel, and I have learned of its truthfulness. I know that God will never abandon us and that the prophet is there to give us the instruction and guidance that we need as we try to become like Christ while living in the world that we are in today. As we look to and obey the counsel of the prophets and apostles of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we will see blessings and miracles in our lives that we could not have previously imagined would happen.
