Hi I'm Mary Brown

I'm a seeker of light and truth. I am filled with the love of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 22 years old, with a great love for life and a firm knowledge of the reality of change. I am the oldest of 4 kids, and it's been the greatest blessing in my life knowing that I have a family that loves me, and I love them! I am SO excited to be able to have a family of my own one day. Music moves me forward- I play the piano, a lil guitar and I love to sing! I love a good movie. I love art and learning about the history of people's creations and imaginations. I am a potentially avid outdoors woman....as I'm coming to grasp how much I truly LOVE being free to run, hike, swim, jump and play wherever, whenever and whatever I want. I would really like to get into biking...I think that would be sweet! I'm always up for trying something new, even though I know I won't be the best, I can do my best, and that can be enough! I love the world of health...real health, not this protein pumped, energy bar, prescription fixing health everyone seems to be reliant on, and I hope to be able to study and learn about true health and healing in my education. I am passionate about finding why people are who they are, what makes them tick, what gives them hope, love and brings them the greatest happiness. Seeing sincere peace and joy in a person's life brings me the greatest comfort and fulfillment.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus is the Christ, that God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and that through the Restoration of His gospel He has provided a way for us to live and know pure truth, confidence and peace in this life and after! I have learned about and attended services of many other religions, which has been a wonderful experience, and through doing so have found the reality of Christ's church, the same church and organization that He built and taught when He walked the earth! I am a Mormon because I know that Heavenly Father has always taught His truths and salvation through prophets- Moses, Noah, Abraham- and that because He never changes, He still teaches through prophets today. I know that after Christ was crucified His teachings were rejected and many of them lost, which is why we have so many different churches now! But because God is always the same, He restored all of those lost truths through a restoration, brought by the faith and obedience and perseverance of a boy named Joseph Smith, who was called as a prophet in these last days. I know all of these things because I have prayed for understanding and read from the Book of Mormon, a testimony of ancient inhabitants of America, which was translated by the power of God for our day. I am a Mormon because I know these things are true, and that these truths cannot be found anywhere else today. I continue to grow in my understanding and testimony and surety of these things every single day, and will continue to do so until I see Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving others and striving to always see them as Christ would! I am currently serving a mission for Heavenly Father in Des Moines, Iowa, where I have found so much strength, power and confidence in myself and His children as I watch the lives of people change through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I will continue to serve Him when I return home from my mission by fulfilling callings in my church and watching out for the needs of everyone around me. I read from Christ's words, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, every day, and then try to act on everything I learn from them...I could not get through a day without them! I live my faith by always trying to be better, to repent and seek forgiveness and then try again! I was baptized when I was 8 years old, and partake of the sacrament at church each week, where I am able to renew the promises I made at baptism and feel His love for who I am. I know that I am a daughter of God, and that He loves me, and that I can always turn to Him in prayer and faith.
