Hi I'm Patrick

I grew up an Evangelical Christian, and as a Southern Baptist. I work in the Entertainment Industry. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a spiritual person all of my life. I believe there is truth is many different perspectives of life. I am in recovery from addiction and have been CLEAN since March 17, 2003. It would be nice if I could say that date was a lot earlier since I joined the Church in 1990, but it would not be truthful. Addiction doesn't care about our religious beliefs, whether we follow them fully or not. I am grateful that the church has a program for those recovering from addiction and that our leaders support other groups like AA, NA and so on. Life is a spiritual journey, and I am thankful for the guidance I receive from the Holy Ghost and for my Savior Jesus Christ who have sent me down this path.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know the doctrine is true for me! If you are not at that level, that is ok, just come try it out and see if works for you and is part of your path. I am also a Mormon because I do not believe that the concepts of Heaven and Hell and turn or burn theology is in line with the character of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They have perfect traits of Justice and Mercy. For me, the believe or burn theology answers justice, but does not fully answer mercy. I BELIEVE THE MOST IMPORTANT FAITH QUESTION IS NOT THE ANSWER TO WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO AGREE WITH YOU, BUT RATHER WHAT IS YOUR ANSWER TO WHAT HAPPENS TO THOSE WHO DISAGREE WITH YOU, AND HOW DOES THAT MESH WITH THE PERFECT JUSTICE AND MERCY OF GOD AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. I have never found a more complete and perfect answer to that question than in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am CONVINCED that FAMILIES ARE FOREVER, and our relationships with our friends and especially our family members have ETERNAL POTENTIAL. I have discovered this wonderful PERSONAL TRUTH in this church. I am so grateful for the blessings of ETERNAL FAMILIES and FRIENDSHIPS! We serve an AWESOME GOD who didn't miss even the smallest of details! If you want to discover the JOY of an ETERNAL FAMILY, and the JESUS CHRIST's church! I know that it is true with every fiber of my being! That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I serve as a ward missionary in my home ward, which simply means I help our full-time missionaries fulfill their duties. I have also spent a considerable amount of time serving in the addiction recovery program of our church. I try to help as many people as I can understand my own personal faith journey, and I am hopeful it will help them in theirs. I also try to assist other members of my faith with their spiritual journey, because that is part of the mission of our church. Our world is in dire need of our Savior Jesus Christ. He is the Supreme Example for mankind and I am convinced He is the LEADER of our church. We are referred to as Mormons, but JESUS CHRIST is the focal point of our faith, our lives, and our church bears His name. I believe the Christ provided the perfect example of service, and that all who believe in Him can benefit by making service a central theme of their lives. I certainly am not perfect at it, but I strive each day to serve others inside and outside the Church. I am an active in humanitarian causes and I seek to promote peace and harmony every chance I get. I have served in the American military in the US ARMY, and I love my country. I am so grateful for founding father's who organized a structure that included religious liberty. I believe in good citizenship. One person can make a difference and I have seen the evidence of that in my own life. I am confident in the veracity of my faith, but I also firmly believe there is TRUTH in the multitude of life perspectives found in this world. Come try out our perspective and bring with you whatever principles you hold dear. I am certain, that like I did, you too will find our perspective will enhance your own.
