Hi I'm Frank Jacobberger

I'm a Mormon. Grew up in Omaha, NE. Joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Oregon at the age of 17.

About Me

I'm in my late fifty's, married with four children. We've emptied the nest. Have five wonderful grandchildren and two more on the way in July, and November 2012. I like to fish, hike, play chess and golf when I have time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was previously a very active Catholic. I attended parochial schools, attending mass every Sunday. Took part in all aspects of Catholic life. However at the age of sixteen, our family moved from Omaha, NE, to the northwest. My parents couldn't find a viable Catholic church in our area. Within months of our arrival we were visited by missionaries of the Mormon church. We listened to the teachings of the church, attended their meetings and within a years time were baptized. At first my conversion was not founded on a strong testimony of the teachings, but based more or less on the desire to know more. It wasn't till a few years later that I was able to come to terms with some problems with sin that I was encountering, and decided to take full advantage of the atonement of Jesus Christ. It was quite a wonderful event. I felt the Saviors love and the feeling of full forgivenes washed over me like nothing else I've ever experienced. After that experience I decided to serve as a missionary for the church. I served faithfully for two years to the people of Switzerland, and Germany. I was able to see the effects of repentance on others of many different walks of life. Through the many conversions I witnessed, my own testimony grew and strengthened. It is my witness to you, that the gospel of Jesus Christ with the fullness of the gospel restored in these times through the prophet Joseph Smith is the most precious thing a person could ever grasp hold of while sojourning here in mortality. I know that the Lord speaks today through a living prophet. There is a peaceful, abiding spirit (the Holy Spirit) that will attend you as you make this journey to know for yourself the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities in the Mormon church. These opportunities have helped me grow personally and it is a great joy to server others. I have taught the youth of the church, I've been able to serve faithfully as a home teacher for over forty years. Church service is available to all who have the desire to serve.

Are Mormons Christians?

Frank Jacobberger
In the very sense of the word, we are Christians. I recognize Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. He is the living Son of God. He alone atoned for the sins of all mankind. It is through Him that we can have hope and cheer in this life and the hope of a glorious resurrection. I certainly have increased my love for others through the many experiences I've had understanding His teachings. I testify to you that I've overcome many difficulties in this life by recognizing the need to change. While I still have a long way to go, I know that without the Savior's influence in my life, the road would have been much more difficult. Show more Show less
