Hi I'm David.

I grew up in Idaho, love to tease my kids (and anyone else I come in contact with), and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to read novels, write stories, and play computer games with my sons. I've been married for 24 years, and we have 5 beautiful children. We're at the stage in life where our kids are preparing to be on their own, with two in college, one preparing for a mission, one about to graduate from high school, and then just one more to go!

Why I am a Mormon

I've had several experiences that have confirmed my faith. Several years ago, just prior to a General Conference I was making sure I could use my computer to watch, and that everything worked correctly. While doing so, I came across the video "On the Lord's Errand" which talks about experiences in the life of Thomas S. Monson, the President of the Church. During that video, I felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me stronger than ever before that he was truly the Prophet of the Lord on the earth today. Several weeks later, I was in a meeting where Elder D. Todd Christofferson spoke about the parable of the prodigal son. During his talk, he detailed the actions of the father in relation to his son, how he was anxiously awaiting his return, and rushed to greet him, welcoming him home. Again, I felt the confirming fire in my soul of how our Father in Heaven knows and loves each of us individually, is anxiously awaiting us to return, and how he provided us a way for us to return through the Atonement.

How I live my faith

We try to have daily prayers and scripture reading (I'd say scripture study, but we DO have teenagers), and I participate in various service projects.
