Hi I'm Mary Elizabeth Jenkins Wenner

I grew up in Utah. I have 9 brothers and sisters. I am married and have a family of my own and I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mom of my 2 boys. I have been married for 25 years. We have lived in the same state all our lives. I am very happy and content with my life. I love to Scrapbook family pictures. My boys each have thier own scrapbooks of their lives as they grow. That way they will always remember the fun memories we have had together as a family. I love doing "Hair" I graduated from Cosmetology school right out of highschool. I worked in my salon for 18 years. Cutting, styling, perming and coloring hair is my passion. I also enjoy doing nails and pedicures. I did many makeovers for high school dances for girls in my neighborhood. I love helping people like the way they look and feel good about themselves. Life is wonderful.I am so lucky I have a LDS temple right in my backyard. I love to walk to the temple once a week to perform ordinances for my family ancestors who have died without hearing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.. Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are my truest friends. I am happy becuase I rely on them everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was very active in the LDS Church. I remember going to church as a very young girl with all 9 of my brothers and sisters. We lived right next to an LDS church all my childhood years. I walked to church every sunday and I walked to my Young women activities every week. I remember questioning my beliefs everytime I attended my church. It always felt right and my mom and dad were happy and content so I trusted them. When I became a teenager I never really rebelled from the way my parents raised me. I loved God and it made sense to me that I lived with him before I came to this earth. I knew that Jesus Christ had come to the earth lived and died while he was here. I had been taught the bible stories at home and in my sunday church meetings. I knew why I was on this earth. What I needed to do while I was here and how I was going to get back home to my Heavenly Father. I started really developing my own testimony of Jesus Christ when I attended my seminary classes in public school. Four years of studying the Book of Mormon and Bible as well as studying at church really helped me understand the life of the Savior and how after he died the earth went throught the dark ages where there was no revelations from God.All the apostles that held the preisthood authority of God had been murdered. The world was left with the memory of the truth but no autority from God. The autority finally came when Jesus Christ restored the gospel through a young 14 year old boy who prayed for more wisdom about which church he should join. The book of mormon was burried in the Hill Cumorah by Moroni, the last living prophet to write in this sacred record of gold. Joseph Smith was told where to find these plates by Angel Moroni and began the process of translating the ancient record into the book we have today. The Book of Mormon. I love this book. I have read it many times. I read it everyday to my children.

How I live my faith

I am very active in my community and in my church. I ran for public office and won. I served on my neighborhood City council for 4 years as a council member. My job was to help approve housing developments and plan for parks and new growth in my community.I served with The mayor of our city and 4 other board members on the council. I love making my neighborhood the best place to live that I can. My family has lived in this neighborhood for 25 years. We love our house and neighbors. I want my children to be very involved in their community. I want them to vote in all our public elections when they are old enough. I hope they see thorugh my example that doing good in a community can make a big difference in their quality of life and in the lives of those they live by. I serve in my ward as a secretary for the ladies in my neighborhood who are 18 years and older. I spend a lot of my time visiting my neighbors. Every sunday I visit 3 or 4 ladies in my neighborhood. Some of them are active members of my church and some of them are not. I want them to know I care about them and want to help them in any way I can to make thier lives and the lives of their family members better. I am very bless to live in this free country where we can vote and have a say in the quality of our government. God has blessed me and I want to give back to others because of my abundance.
