Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up on a farm in Nevada, I was home schooled most of my life, I'm a freshman in College, and I'm proud to be a Mormon!

About Me

I am a sister, daughter, and granddaughter. I love spending time with my family, my dog, and my friends! I love running two miles everyday (except Sunday), and anything outdoors! I love playing piano (classical and hymns are my favorite), and I enjoy singing and listening to music, the sweet and cuddly kind :) And I am so excited to start college this fall! I learned how to drive a car by myself when I was around eight (we lived in the middle of no where so that's just what kids did) And learned how to ride a horse, motorcycle, four wheeler, drive hay trucks, tractors, swathers (they cut hay), and a stick pickup :) all before I was fifteen! I lived in Michigan for my sophomore year in high school, and came to love it there a lot! But my favorite place to be is where my family is! And I most definitely want to start a family of my own someday. I love a challenge, I love helping those around me, and I can't wait to see what the future will bring!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, which I am sure helped in my decision, but the reason I am a Mormon today and for everyday after, is because I have personally seen the difference it makes in my life, and in the lives of so many others, and I like what I see. I have tried a lot of ways to make myself happy, some of them not so good, but I have never been so happy, confident, or hopeful as I have been since I chose to completely follow the Lord no matter what, and began sincerely living my religion with all my heart. I have found peace, comfort, and answers. I have received direction in my life, and a purpose. I don't know what I would do without my faith, it is what gets me through the hard times and makes everything okay!

How I live my faith

There are many ways I live my faith. One way is by accepting and fulfilling callings. Right now I help with the other youth in the Church, I make sure everyone is included, and check up on those who aren't doing well. I help organize and plan youth activities and conduct the meetings, by assigning people to say the opening prayers etc. When asked to, I help clean the Chapel. And sometimes I will volunteer to help babysit for the adults so they can attend certain meetings. Aside from that, I try to live my religion by living my beliefs at all times, and in all things, and in all places. I try to not ever do anything contrary to my standards, and try my best to live my life as Jesus would want me to. I attend my church meetings, but it doesn't end there. I try to apply what I've learned into my daily life each week. I'm not perfect at it, but I do my best, and try to do better each day.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

I have received so many blessings from having the gift of the Holy Ghost in my life. I have been directed in many of the decisions and choices I've had to make, comforted when I was in need of comfort, warned from making decisions that would have resulted badly. I've had my faith strengthened, my beliefs confirmed, received answers to questions and prayers (many times through inspired thoughts or ideas that would come to me, such as to look up a certain scripture), been able to remember things I had for gotten and needed to remember, helped to better understand the things of God, received strength when I was in need of help, been able to better discern between right and wrong and truth and deceit, and have felt the love of God for me so strongly when I was in need of assurance. Those without the gift of the Holy Ghost can temporarily feel his influence, like to receive comfort or a feeling of peace for a time, however they aren't able to continually feel of his influence. His continual presence is a gift reserved for those who are members of Christ's church and have been baptized and confirmed by proper authority. I'm very grateful I've been given the gift of the Holy Ghost so that as long as I choose to live the commandments of God and make the good choices that allow the Holy Ghost to stay with me, I can feel of His influence all the time. I cannot imagine my life without the gift of the Holy Ghost! Show more Show less
