Hi I'm Thomas

I live in Salt Lake City Utah. I write fiction and make films. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am someone of a creative mind. I love to read and write books of fantasy and science fiction. I am currently going to school for a degree in English and Creative Writing. I hope to become a college professor someday. I am married to a beautiful wife, we will soon hit two years of being married. She is the most wonderful person in the world and there is not one else that I would rather spend my eternity with. As I said, I'm a writer. I've been writing since I was 12 years old, and been imagining stories since long before than. I am also an amateur filmmaker, doing the occasional small project on the side. With my writing, I have not yet been published, I am soon going to be finished with a book of fantasy/science fiction which will be of publishable quality. We'll see where the road takes me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the power of the Holy Ghost. The spirit testified of the truth to me in a way that I can never deny. It was a powerful feeling, and I know it's true because I did not feel this feeling coming from myself, it came from somewhere else. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for my weaknesses, my sins, and my mistakes. I'm a Mormon because the Gospel truths, the Plan of Salvation, The Love of God, are all diamond truths. Whenever I've had a hard time, I can always turn to those truths for comfort. These truths, when understood in our minds, felt in our hearts, and lived in our lives, act as an anchor for our souls. No matter where the waves may toss, God's love and truth can hold us in place, as long as we follow him. I'm a Mormon because I have felt God's love through his spirit and through his church. It has taught me the meaning of loving God and others more than ourselves. It has taught me that when one sacrifices what they have for the happiness of others, more happiness is found than if we selfishly kept everything to ourselves.

How I live my faith

I am in Charge of a Committee charged with spreading the Gospel. I lead a group of men my age in organizing activities for serving others, and increasing awareness of the restored Gospel. I keep a copy of "The Book of Mormon" with me at all times, in case I should run into the opportunity to share it with someone.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that God loves us, that he is our father and he wants us to be like him. We believe he has a physical body that is perfect and immortal. We knew him before this life, and he knows us individually just as a father knows his children. He's given us a plan for us to grow and to return to him. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Just like God spoke to the People of Ancient Israel, he also spoke to the people of the Ancient Americas through prophets. These Prophets testified of Christ and of His love for us. After his Resurrection, Jesus Christ himself appeared to the Ancient Americans, and taught them his gospel. After many hundreds of years, the peoples of Ancient America became wicked, many were destroyed in war. Mormon, one of the last prophets in the Ancient Americas, combined the history of his people to make "The Book of Mormon." At the end of the Book of Mormon there is a promise written, that all those who read it and ask God with faith in Christ if it is true will know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is the word of God. What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible to be a collection of God's word to the men in ancient Israel and the surrounding areas. These men who receive God's words are called "Prophets". Show more Show less
