Hi I'm Courtney D.

I'm enthusiastic about life. Genealogy makes me giddy. I love talking with people. I'm a missionary. And I LOVE being a Mormon.

About Me

Bom dia!!!! Eu sou uma missionario agora in Brazil! I love the gospel of Jesus Christ so much that I am teaching it 24/7 for the next 18 months! I grew up in a little Pacific Northwestern Washington town and loved every minute of it. I love the water - in all it's varieties. Seriously! :) Rain, rivers, oceans, tide pools, showers - you name it, I love it! Before I came out on a mission, I was a Family Life: Human Development major at Brigham Young University. I am so excited to certify as a Child Life Specialist, but I am even more excited to become a wife and mother. I am way beyond excited to start my own family. So now I am preparing in all the ways I can to have a family of my own. Things I love: my Heavenly Father, my mission, singing, the peace of the gospel, rainbows, genealogy, my family, Brazil, buttered toast, Hyrum Smith, journaling, trees, talking, Ultimate Frisbee, my dog, BYU, grandparents, being a missionary, fresh pine air, my Savior, chicken terayaki, my ancestors, sailboats, mountains, music, basketball, people, rain.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out being a Mormon because I was born into a Mormon family, but as I have grown up, I have chose to be a Mormon all on my own. As a 4 year-old, I sung: "I like to look for rainbows whenever there is rain, and ponder on the beauty of an earth made clean again. I want my life to be as clean as earth right after rain. I want to be the best I can, and live with God again." I did not understand much, but what I knew that I wanted my life to be like the world feels after it has rained. That same goodness I felt as a 4-year old has been found in more greater abundance through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am the happiest I have been in my entire life, and it is all attributed to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is a message of peace, hope, joy, love, grace. In a world full of so much turmoil, sin, confusion and frustration I find peace and rest for my soul through the teachings The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that my Savior lives. I know that because of Him and His sacrifice I can be worthy to live with my Heavenly Father again. I know that through Joseph Smith, the restored gospel is here on the earth again! What an immense blessing I have to be a member of this Church! I do not take my membership lightly - I cherish it every day of my life, and I hope that you will also be able to cherish this membership as well. Your Father in Heaven is waiting for you to come into His fold; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Come and drink of the everlasting water. Come to the waters. It is oh so marvelous.

How I live my faith

"Are you ready? Are you ready? Angels are calling your name....come take your place in the Father's design." (Hilary Weeks) I am ready to stand where my Father in Heaven would have me stand. To say what He would have me say. To love as He would have me love. To be who He wants me to become. I am ready to earn my heritage. Right now, I am living my largest childhood dream: I am a full-time missionary! Whooo-hooo!!!! Every day I learn deeper about God's plan for His children and then I go out and tell the world about it! What a marvelous gift I have of light, knowledge and truth, from God above, to share with all those who come into my life.Right now, I am living my largest childhood dream: I am a full-time missionary!
