Hi I'm Sherry Ruetschi

I grew up in Slippery Rock, I am a wife and mother of 4, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my wonderful husband Scott for going on 20 years this June of 2012. We have 4 busy and sometimes challenging children. I love to garden, sometimes I find it the most peaceful place to be since my children don't often stay and help for too long. I can think and pray and sing, and just enjoy the beauty all around that God has blessed me with. I am not the best at gardening, but it gets better with each year... I think I harvest more spiritually than I ever do in vegitables. We are trying to raise our children in the gospel even though my husband is not a member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints since I was a little girl... I love being able to continually strive to become better and as difficult as life can be at times, and as often as I forget to do the simple things that the Lord wants me to do... I know that through the attonement of my Savior Jesus Christ, that I can repent and try to do my best. I love having the spirit of Christ with me and pray that I will allways remember him so that I can have it with me at all times. Life gets so busy and complicated that at times we don't even notice that it's missing, but we can always bring it back. Even with just a desire in our hearts and a quiet "please". Why am I a Mormon..... because I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ... I love that I, just as the people of old, have a living Prophet here to guide me...I have the Book of Mormon and the Bible so that I may learn from these Prophets and feal the spirit of Christ in me. I am Mormon because I feel it in my heart and I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I conduct the music in Relief Society, I can't read music, but I love to sing. I feel the spirit so strongly when I sing. I try to help my children feel that spirit also through family prayer and scripture study. We invite the missionaries from our ward to our home for dinner regularly. I enjoy talking about the gospel to friends, family and people that I work with. The church is part of our every day it seems, how can you not mention it at some time or another... I live my faith through service. As I serve others, I am always in the service of my Lord. Serving brings such joy to my life, and sometimes it's hard to remember that I need to let others have that same joy through serving me.
