Hi I'm Brandon

I love Star Wars, rock-n-roll, and my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Minnesota, where I work as a cancer doctor. I have a little boy and a beautiful wife, both of whom I love very much. I chose to specialize in cancer because I found that being faced with something serious like cancer usually brings out the best in people. I played guitar in a band through high school and still enjoy a good jam session. I have traveled extensively for work and enjoy visiting countries in Europe.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because I believe the Mormon church is God's only true church on earth. People are sometimes bothered by that statement because they feel that by saying it, I am in some way diminishing their church, which is not ever my intention. The Bible teaches us that if we want to know God's will in our life, the best way to find that out is to ask Him. Since I received an answer to my prayers that the Mormon church is God's true church, I find it incredibly important to share that information with others, just as Christ's disciples did. Jesus compared the gospel to finding a pearl of great price, and I consider my knowledge of God's church on earth to be the greatest treasure I have.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others, both in and out of the Mormon church. I have found that there is so much good that can be done in the world and that it takes very little effort on my part to make a big difference in the life of another person. My job within the church is to organize monthly activities designed to create brotherhood and camaraderie among the men of the church. The cool thing about these activities is that anyone is invited, whether they are a Mormon or not. These activities are not supposed to be of a spiritual nature per se, but we adhere to the standards of the church when we get together. Some of the things we've done include video game night, flag football, and "guy's night out" at the local burger joint. I also make montly visits to three specific families that go to church with me to make sure they are doing okay and to share a gospel message.
