Hi I'm Sandy Kelley

I grew up in Idaho, attended Utah State and Arizona State. I taught English for 28 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I won a short story contest and have been published in church and educational publications. I am single and retired. I have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I like to read, quilt and travel. I love to research my family's history and find interesting facts and stories about my ancestors. For instance, one of my ancestors tried to escape from Alcatraz. I love to be with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the standards and values of the Church. I am a Mormon because I believe the doctrine and I know what God expects of me. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my attending church meetings on Sunday. Each week as I partake of the sacrament, I remember what the Savior has done for me. In another meeting, the women in the ward meet together and learn how to be a better person, wife, and mother. My life is enriched because of these lessons and the sisterhood that exists there. In Sunday school, I learn more about the life of Christ and how his teachings apply to my life. I live my faith by participating in these auxiliary organizations. I live my faith by paying my tithing each month. I live my religion by praying daily and studying the scriptures. I attempt to follow the commandments. I volunteer in the temple once a week. Currently, the ladies in our ward are donating clothing and other supplies to an organization that serves needy children. I also donate a quilt to the homeless every year in my quilting group. Mostly, I hope I live my religion by treating people the way the Savior would.
