Hi I'm Amanda Huebner

I am a student taking time out to serve God in the Albuquerque, New Mexico.

About Me

Band. Academics. Fangirling. That's about it.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born in the church, I used to question if I really had a testimony. I had the whole gospel laid out in front of me; I knew the scriptures almost as well as the back of my hand. So like Moroni challenged, I prayed. Nothing. After several challenges, I realized that I always had the spirit with me, because I felt when it wasn't there, a feeling like darkness that never ends. I had a testimony, built line upon line, precept upon precept. I let it fall, but this time I'm building it with real intent, upon the foundation of Christ, by small and simple things, line upon line, precept upon precept.

How I live my faith

A quote by sister Dibb reads "I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it." I definitely know it and I have always loved it, so it is the living it part that I am always in the process of working on. One of the greatest things we can "know" in order to "live it" is that God is truly a loving Heavenly Father who sent his only begotten Son to atone for our sins. When we know this, it becomes easier to try to live as he did. We understand that we will make mistakes because Christ is our net of safety and our guide in the darkness. When we mess up, we do not turn away from the church. When we have doubts, we know that it is not the end. We will never know everything in this life - but for me, knowing that God loves us is the only answer I need.
