Hi I'm Roger

I'm a Mormon. I am the father of six children and grandfather to eighteen. I am a retired financial manager.

About Me

I enjoy music. I play several instruments, none of them perfectly. I studied music at University but then graduated with a degree in Broadcast Communications and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I have volunteered with youth groups, like Boy Scouts, and in my Church as a lay leader for many years. I love to serve. Along with my wife of over forty years, we love being with our grandchildren. I am licensed to fly small airplanes, ride motorcycles, and operate amatuer radios. I am a bit of a computer geek. I love to travel, be outdoors and hike in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in a loving and caring God and in His Son, Jesus Christ. My life is better because of my relationship with Him. He hears and answers my prayers. He has helped me in so many ways, especially as we raised our six children to be wonderful and well adjusted adults each of which has been married to a loving wife or husband and they each are, in turn, raising wonderful children. It is through God's gospel and our faith in Him that we are seeing this great blessing. I know that our family can be together forever and that through the plan that God has for me and my family, I will have this relationship with my wife, my children and my grandchildren for the eternities. My church helps me to know these things and provides me with the pathway and the means to achieve this goal. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

When I was a teenager I began to do the simple daily things that help me to know God; Daily prayer, reading the scriptures and going to church. I have tried to follow God's commandments. I volunteered as a missionary in South America before returning to University. Later, after marrying my sweetheart and while working in my career in financial management, I served as a local missionary, as a youth leader, and as a lay minister, Bishop, in my congregation. Sometimes it took a great deal of time to work to provide for my family and serve so many hours after work in the church but I know that God has blessed me and my family much more than the service I have given to Him.
